Job Description
Blue Origin's TeraWave Operations is building a first-of-its-kind satellite connectivity manufacturing capability, and we are seeking a Sr. Director of TeraWave Site Launch Operations to lead the tiger team responsible for making it a reality.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the center of one of Blue Origin's most ambitious programs. You will own the end-to-end launch of TeraWave manufacturing operations - from facility readiness and infrastructure buildout through production go-live - ensuring the site is fully equipped, operationally ready, and built to scale. You will lead a cross-functional tiger team, partner deeply with engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations leadership, and drive the decisions that determine how and when TeraWave reaches rate production.
What You Will Do • Lead the TeraWave site launch team, driving accountability to milestones and ensuring the organization is aligned and executing at pace
• Own end-to-end site launch - from initial facility planning and infrastructure buildout through production go-live and ramp
• Define facility and operational requirements including test equipment, tooling, power consumption, air supply, and resource planning — translating product and process needs into a fully operational manufacturing environment
• Partner closely with engineering teams to understand what is being built and how, ensuring site capabilities are designed to support production requirements from day one
• Drive alignment across engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations to ensure nothing is missed at launch
• Identify and resolve gaps early - anticipating risks before they become delays and making decisions with incomplete information in a fast-moving environment
• Define and track site launch metrics, communicating progress and risks clearly to senior leadership
• Build and develop a high-performing tiger team capable of executing at the speed and complexity this program demands
• Adapt plans as the program evolves, maintaining operational readiness in a first-of-its-kind, ambiguous environment
• Partner with peer site leaders to ensure consistency in processes, standards, and learnings across sites
What You Bring • 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, site operations, or industrial engineering, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record of standing up complex manufacturing or production facilities from the ground up and launching them on time
• Deep technical fluency - you understand what is being built, how it is built, and what the facility needs to support it
• Experience defining facility and infrastructure requirements across test equipment, tooling, power, and production utilities
• Exceptional ability to operate in ambiguity and make sound decisions in a fast-moving, first-of-its-kind program
• Experience partnering across engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations at a senior level
• Clear communicator with executive presence - can translate operational complexity into crisp insights for leadership
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and hold a high-performing team accountable to results
Nice to Have • Experience in satellite, aerospace, consumer electronics, or defense manufacturing environments
• Background in both facility launch and volume manufacturing operations
• Familiarity with TeraWave or satellite connectivity hardware programs
• Experience managing operations across multiple manufacturing sites
Base Pay Range for: WA applicants is $236,318.00 - $330,844.50 Other site ranges may differ
