Work Arrangement: This role follows a hybrid schedule and requires in-office presence in Columbus, Ohio two days per week. Location Requirement: Candidates must be based within a commutable distance to Columbus, Ohio. Work Authorization: This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. We are looking for a senior technology individual contributor to help shape the next chapter of engineering and AI across Personal Lines Solutions. This role provides technical leadership across a broad PLS application portfolio and helps advance AI expertise and execution across the organization.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of modern engineering, platform transformation, and applied AI. The leader in this role will influence technology direction across value streams, partner with tech leads, architects, agile leaders, and senior leadership, and help turn emerging AI capabilities into practical outcomes for software delivery, business value, and IT operations.
The work spans high-impact priorities such as Guidewire modernization, performance optimization across core customer journeys, AI-assisted delivery patterns, and agentic AI use cases. T his is an opportunity to build, influence, and scale in a highly visible role where modern engineering and responsible AI are not side experiments, but part of the business and technology strategy.
In this role, you will: • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate business objectives into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity, delivery speed, quality, and operational efficiency through modern technologies, including AI enabled capabilities.
• Develop technology recommendations and implementation roadmaps that align with business priorities and enterprise architecture.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a way that is easily understood by both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Influence technical decisions across product, engineering, quality assurance, and operations teams without direct management responsibility.
• Drive modernization efforts through APIs, cloud technologies, platform improvements, and application optimization.
• Improve release quality, reduce technology risk, and promote secure software engineering and DevSecOps best practices.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, design reviews, and engineering standards to elevate overall team capability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical solutions that improve customer and associate experiences.
Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Guidewire is preferred but not required.
• Experience applying AI capabilities to improve software delivery, engineering efficiency, or business outcomes.
• Strong consulting, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands on technical problem solving and execution.

As a Software Engineer you will focus on mentoring and leading others to deliver high quality, cost-effective technology solutions to business partners by crafting new software applications or modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built applications. Job Description Key Responsibilities: • Responsible for applying secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Mentors and trains others on design techniques, tools and coding standards.
• Executes and provides strategic advice on using technology to achieve goals.
• Drives cross-collaboration and execution of projects across multiple teams.
• Analyzes, solutions, develops, tests, debugs, documents and deploys software according to standards and best practices.
• Champions the use of DevSecOps practices, tooling and techniques.
• Drives continuous learning and improvement through ongoing training, practice and innovation.
• Works across organizations and product areas to drive joint technical roadmaps.
• Manages individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Director or above.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Eight or more years of analysis and technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Hands on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting
