About this role

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Industrial Spray Foam Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient application of spray polyurethane foam insulation and related coating systems used in industrial manufacturing environments. This position owns spray application quality, equipment readiness, inspection activities, documentation accuracy, material control, and compliance with company safety and quality standards. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Review work orders, drawings, specifications, quality requirements, and production schedules prior to beginning work. ● Prepare surfaces through cleaning, masking, grinding, protection, and environmental conditioning activities. ● Set up, operate, and adjust spray foam proportioners, heated hoses, transfer pumps, spray guns, compressors, and support equipment. ● Verify material batch information, shelf life, storage conditions, and mix ratios before application. ● Apply spray foam systems to required thickness, density, adhesion, and appearance requirements. ● Perform in-process inspections and final inspections utilizing approved inspection criteria and measuring devices. ● Document thickness readings, environmental conditions, material usage, equipment settings, and inspection results. ● Maintain daily production reports, maintenance logs, calibration records, and quality documentation. ● Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance activities on spray equipment. ● Troubleshoot application defects, equipment malfunctions, material issues, and process deviations. ● Identify and segregate non-conforming products and participate in root cause investigations. ● Support customer inspections, quality audits, and ISO compliance activities. ● Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure work areas remain organized and audit ready. ● Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. ● Any other responsibilities as assigned by TAS.

JOB SKILLS: ● Advanced knowledge of industrial spray foam application techniques. ● Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions. ● Mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting capability. ● Understanding of inspection methods and quality documentation requirements. ● Knowledge of OSHA requirements, PPE usage, respirator programs, and chemical handling practices. ● Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. ● Proficiency using tablets, electronic forms, and Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION & TRAINING: ● High School Diploma or GED required. ● Spray polyurethane foam certification or equivalent training preferred. ● OSHA 10 certification preferred. ● Respirator qualification and fit testing required. ● Forklift and aerial lift experience preferred.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: ● Minimum 3 years of industrial coating, insulation, spray foam, manufacturing, or construction experience. ● Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around manufacturing equipment. ● Ability to travel between facilities and project locations as required. ● Ability to pass company safety and qualification requirements.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: ● Experience operating plural-component spray equipment preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: ● Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required. ● Lifting of objects up to 50lbs. ● Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. ● Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. ● Face shield & Respirator required while performing foaming/chemical handling related tasks. ● Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. ● Minimum PPE - Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, & Steel-toe boots are required in manufacturing facilities.
