This requisition is for an RTX intern converting to FT hire upon graduation.

What You Will Do • Participate in the requirements, design, development and testing of software to include development of new work products or enhancement of existing applications and systems • Design, code, test, integrate, and document software solutions • Participate in internal review of software components and systems • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering • Follow established development practices and processes to maintain the configuration management of software products

What You Will Learn • You will learn COMINT/ELINT principles and concepts and work side-by-side with industry recognized technical leaders to develop and implement state of the art systems. • You will learn software engineering in all aspects - requirements, design, implementation, testing • You will learn how to work on a fast-paced team to tackle difficult challenges in an ever-evolving field • Software engineering in all aspects – design, implementation, testing, etc • Working on a fast-paced team tackling difficult challenges in an ever-evolving field • Gain domain knowledge about communications systems

Qualifications You Must Have • Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date. • Experience developing in modern programming languages (e.g. C++; Java) in a Linux environment • Good working knowledge of data structures and how to efficiently use them to solve problems • Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python) • Experience working with containerized software and associated tools (Kubernetes, Helm, Podman)

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications We Prefer • Experience with Multithreading • Experience working both in a team environment and individually • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP • Experience with Qt • Experience with User Interface development • Experience with Angular web GUI development • Embedded SW Design Experience • Experience in integrating software with hardware • Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as git • Experience maintaining and using build processes (makefiles, CMake) • Familiarity with event-driven systems and messaging platforms such as Kafka • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and gRPC • Experience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing • Experience with or basic understanding of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Standards • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance with Poly

The salary range for this role is 75,800 USD - 144,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
