Your Impact

As a Software Engineer I on the VR team, you will help build immersive training experiences that support public safety professionals in the field. You’ll work on interactive simulations that bring training scenarios to life, helping agencies improve decision-making, communication, and outcomes in critical moments. This role is an opportunity to grow your skills in Unity and real-time 3D development while contributing to products that have meaningful real-world impact.

You will join an interdisciplinary team that is tackling the biggest challenges in public safety training head-on, including immersive VR-based empathy and de-escalation training to help officers engage with the communities they serve with greater awareness and safety. We seek to revolutionize how training is implemented within public safety and we seek to accomplish this while abiding to the following guiding principles:

• Empower Agencies with Data : Deliver ongoing data and analysis that provide agencies with key insights that enable them to make decisions that result in building better, more efficient, and positive programs.

• Develop an Active and Diverse Virtual Platform : Leverage the latest in VR technologies to create a robust portfolio of solutions and the highest-quality content, that enable users to be more effective in their roles and manage the challenges of 21st century public safety.

About the Team

Our VR team builds immersive training that helps public safety professionals better serve their communities. We work closely with law enforcement, community stakeholders, and subject matter experts to ensure our products are both effective and responsible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning. The team is highly cross-functional, bringing together engineers, artists, designers, and researchers to create meaningful experiences.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Location: This role is based out of our Seattle, WA office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success. Reports to: Engineering Manager

• Build and maintain interactive VR training experiences using Unity and C#

• Collaborate with product, design, art, and user research to deliver engaging, high-quality simulations

• Translate training content into interactive, scalable experiences across VR and mobile platforms

• Contribute to feature development from concept through production and release

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning

• Help improve development workflows, tools, and content pipelines

• Debug and resolve issues across gameplay systems, UI, and performance

• Explore new technologies and contribute to prototyping efforts

WHAT YOU BRING

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering with C# or similar languages

• Experience building applications in Unity or working with real-time 3D systems

• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals such as data structures and code quality

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners such as designers or artists

• Ability to learn quickly, take ownership of work, and contribute in a team environment

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors. Base Pay Range $106,500 — $170,400 USD
