At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company’s premier vacation brands including Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney! As part of our team, this Software Engineer will participate in the growth of a global platform by developing solutions that enable our Cast and Guests. In this role, you will create the connected experiences that make Disney an employer of choice and apply practical knowledge of technologies and concepts to software engineering projects, provide technical guidance and grow into a technical expert. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Software Engineering. This is a full-time role.

What You Will Do: Participate in a large development project comprised of multiple components, partnering with project teams and delivering a robust solution Build and maintain APIs and services for internal facing applications Write high-quality, maintainable code with test coverage Interact and coordinate deliverables with other technical groups in the organization Participate in peer code reviews and collaborate to uphold coding standards Communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders, both on- and off-shore, to identify system requirements or needs and project objectives Support and troubleshoot existing systems to maintain uptime, production releases, and issue resolution

Basic Qualifications & Skills:   3+ years of related work experience in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable software systems and components Java 17+, microservices, Spring Boot, REST APIs Experience designing and developing both web and mobile applications, and Object-Oriented Analysis & Design Proficiency in design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems and components and major SaaS solutions Experience designing and documenting inbound and outbound JSON based RESTful APIs and implementing such APIs within a security framework such as OAuth Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB and Firebase) Excellent and deep understanding of design patterns and modern, highly scalable application development Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience triaging production support issues, performing in-depth troubleshooting, and delivering timely fixes A mindset that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and improvement Comfort working in a fast-paced environment requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:   Front line experience working in the theme park and resort industry. Agentic AI development (Kiro, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and New Relic Experience in developing cloud-based solutions using managed and serverless technologies as appropriate such as Docker, AWS ECS, Google GKE, AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, AWS DynamoDB, or Google Firestore. Comfortable working in an Agile environment Collaboration with Product, QA, and engineering partners Track record on delivering quality projects on schedule Analytics and Dashboard tooling including Tableau and Helix Cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Required Education: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience Required

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $111,900.00-$150,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
