About this role

Job Overview The Site Management Lead (SML) is a senior clinical trial professional and key member of the client's global Clinical Trial Team, assigned to one or more trials. Operating at trial leadership level in complex international matrix environments, the SML owns and drives monitoring strategy planning and implementation at trial level, and risk and issue management for all Site Monitoring and Oversight activities. This includes authoring and maintaining monitoring and risk management plans, ensuring sponsor oversight, analyzing trends and risk signals, and collaborating with vendor functions and stakeholders to enable accurate planning and efficient trial delivery. A strong risk-based quality management (RBQM) and data-driven mindset is essential. The SML provides Site Monitoring expertise, consultation and training to the Trial Team (e.g., CRAs and CT Managers) and leads implementation of the Site Monitoring and Oversight approach within the overall clinical trial quality management framework. The SML contributes to the successful delivery of assigned global trials across all R/OPUs in line with defined milestones and key performance indicators. The role requires comprehensive end-to-end knowledge of global clinical trials from start-up through close-out, including the development of monitoring strategies and use of centralized monitoring techniques and data analytics. The SML oversees Site Monitoring activities to protect trial participants, ensure reliable trial results and compliance with the study protocol, sponsor obligations, ICH-GCP and applicable regulations, and maintain inspection readiness. Main Accountabilities: Trial Preparation: • Plan trial monitoring strategy and quality and risk monitoring/mitigation. • Deliver Risk-based Site Monitoring approach and training for the trial. Accountable for the development of the operational Site Monitoring & Oversight and Integrated Risk Management plans. • Develop and provide appropriate training of trial monitoring topics to Clinical Trial Managers (CT Manager) and Clinical Research Associates (CRA). • Participate in development of trial level documents. • Behave as expert and consultant on Site management and monitoring and risk identification and issue management topics. • Integrate patient/site level feedback to the documents ensuring design with a focus on the patient. • Participate in and contribute to global/regional and local Trial Team meetings, international/ regional / local Investigator Meetings. • Timely responses to Site Management and monitoring questions from external and internal stakeholders (including Regulatory Authority/Ethics Committee). • Facilitate communication and direction with CT Managers and CRO CRAs. Trial Conduct: Monitor progress and oversee Site Management and Monitoring activities conducted by IQVIA partners during clinical trial conduct including adherence to ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements, compliance with SOPs, trial protocol, trial Risk Management and Site Monitoring plans. Including but not limited to: • Lead issue management / oversight on trial level. • Pre-identification of important protocol deviations from site issues/deviations. • Perform continuous review, risk identification, evaluation/ analysis and communication on a trial level as applicable. • Use centralized monitoring tools, dashboards and data analytics to support trial oversight, risk identification, clinical decision-making and timely escalation. • Maintain Risk-based Site Monitoring approach for the trial and update Site Monitoring plan and trial level documents. • Conduct Site and Monitoring Oversight (including Site Monitoring Oversight Visits) according to plan, implement follow-up actions and escalation, as required. • Contribute to preparation and implementation of amendments to the trial level documents including training material updates/retraining as needed. • Facilitate communication and training related to site monitoring in the trial. • Communication with CT Managers, CRAs, perform re- training etc. • Participate, prepare input and (co-) lead Trial Oversight Meetings (country and trial level) and contribute to the timely responses to questions from external and internal stakeholders (including Regulatory Authority/ Ethics Committee). Trial Close-out: • Coordinate timely cleaning and delivery of clinical trial data with Trial Team and countries. • Support compilation and review of the quality section for the clinical trial report for site monitoring activities. Experience Requirements: • Extensive end-to-end clinical trial management experience across global studies, covering start-up through close-out, with demonstrated ownership at trial level. • Experience developing risk-based monitoring strategies and risk management plans and applying risk-based quality management principles to critical data and processes. • Previous on-site monitoring experience is an asset. Degree and Education: University or comparable degree in life sciences or related field OR several years of equivalent professional education may be acceptable if complemented by solid knowledge in and experience with Site Monitoring and Site Management processes and accountabilities. Required Capabilities: Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken) Strong Communication Skills: Demonstrates Accountability Agility Intrapreneurship (AAI) approach and skills in complex cross-functional matrix structures of the trial and extended team. Articulates and aligns business strategy/plan on an ongoing basis, ensuring alignment between words and action. Demonstrates active listening skills and cultural awareness. Demonstrates excellent presentation skills, provides constructive feedback, and conveys complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
