Description:

• Supervises a crew of operators who perform normal and turnaround operations. Has the authority to direct any and all activities to maintain safe and efficient plant operation. Is fully in charge of the plant during off hours.

• Provides daily planning and scheduling of technicians to ensure safe, efficient, and quality operations.

• Drives safety and quality excellence.

• Ensures operator rounds, checklists, and loading/unloading documentation are completed thoroughly and accurately.

• Fosters an expectation of continuous improvement.

• Evaluates and seeks to improve procedures/productivity/work processes.

• Responsible for the performance and development of the operators on their shift.

• Assists in the development/training of new operators to improve their skills and performance.

• Monitors safe work practices and enforces operational, safety, and environmental procedures.

• Coordinates maintenance activities with the Production Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Department.

• Ensures that all Braskem and site Rules of Conduct, absence control, and other Procedures / Programs / Policies are followed.

• Ensures operator pay/time is correctly accounted for in the pay system and timesheets are approved correctly.

• Monitors and ensures operators' computer based training is completed

• Must be able to monitor operating processes via PI or similar program.

• Ensures operator time off tracking is completed

• Incident command for site/area emergencies.

• Serve as a technical resource for team members - Assists team members when planning work, troubleshooting process deviations or upsets, executing startup and shutdown activities, and managing emergency situations.

• Completes daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, safety, overtime, etc. as needed.

• Must have the ability to motivate, develop, and drive performance excellence through feedback, coaching, and shared learning.

• Proficient computer skills required

• Lead or serve as team member for incident investigations

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of work experience required. Prefer candidate with a chemical plant or industrial plant background. Must be available during off hours to address issues with plant operations.

Preferred Skills, Education and Experience:

• Good mechanical aptitude with organizational and communication skills.

• Experience leading people and be willing to embrace and then drive change on their work team.

• Must know how to change the status quo using creative techniques, a sound decision-making process, and the ability to troubleshoot and accomplish things by working with other employees.

• Has the ability to handle personnel issues, including staffing issues and employee development.

• Ability to motivate and coach subordinates.
