Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr Principal Systems Engineer for the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.

As a Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Systems Engineer, you will support a team modeling product support analyses across multiple campuses. This role will involve identifying critical system requirements, implementing process improvements, and integrating various models and data. We are looking for a candidate with experience designing federations of models. A successful candidate will be innovative and comfortable solving technical problems without appreciable guidance. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaboration with various groups to integrate functionality with multiple software environments

• Participation in a collaborative Agile environment

• Support modeling, simulation, and analysis activities

• Assist in integrating various analytical models and tools

• Assist in defining system requirements and finding innovative solutions to difficult technical problems

Basic Qualifications: This requisition may be filled at either the Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03) or Sr. Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04).

Principal Systems Engineer :

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with Master's degree, 1 year with a PhD

Sr. Principal Systems Engineer :

• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 Years of related experience; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD

Required for both levels:

• Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years

• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

• Demonstrated technical experience in MS&A areas to include V&V

• Experience developing V&V artifacts

• Proficiency in MBSE tools (Cameo, DOORs, CPLM, PLM, or similar)

• Experience guiding technical documents through review processes in a DoD environment

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Proficiency with scripting (Python, C++/C#, SQL, MATLAB, R or similar)

• Proactive self-starter capable of identifying gaps and problems in/with processes and proposing and implementing solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Ansys ModelCenter

• Demonstrated experience meeting business requirements with only general guidance and little pre-existing structure

• Experience related to Product Support Analysis and/or Logistics Support Analysis

• Experience with Agile Release Train (ART) or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• Experience identifying end-users requirements, understanding their experiences, needs and preferences for a final product, and developing user-need statements

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.   

This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
