Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Engineer . This position will be located located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

What You Will Get To Do: The selected candidate will become a Principal/Sr. Principal Civil Design Engineer on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil/Structural elements for Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, or Test Facilities.

• Responsible for overseeing and coordinating civil/structural systems design for the Sentinel infrastructure and facilities.

• Subject matter expert supporting the design of high complexity civil/structural systems, including structural steel design drawings, concrete forming and reinforcing design drawings.

• Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.

• Participate in project design/model reviews.

• Review subcontractors design product quality/accuracy by reviewing civil/structural designs and validating that current standards are applied and integrated into the design solution.

• Support the delivery of Civil/Structural facility design Technical Data Packages, Issue-for-Construction (IFC) packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts.

• Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues.

• Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.

• Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.

• Developing and maturing Civil/Structural facility designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications: This role can be filled at the Principal Structural Engineer (T03) or Sr. Principal Structural Engineer (T04) level.

Principal Structural Engineer: Bachelor's degree in Science or STEM with 5 years of experience; or Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or PhD with 0 years of experience. • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

• Knowledge and/or experience with structural analysis of structures, utility connduit and connections.

• Professional knowledge of structures, statics, strength of materials, structural dynamics principles, and methods.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with adjacent disciplines (e.g. systems engineering, aerodynamics, stress analysis, design, test) in a highly integrated team environment.

• Experience with review of structural calculations, Basis of Design, construction drawings and specifications, logic plans, preferably with aerospace structures.

Sr. Principal Structural Engineer: Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of experience, 6 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD. • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).

• Knowledge and/or experience with structural analysis of structures, utility connduit and connections.
