IMEG is hiring a Structural Leader in Portland, OR or Vancouver, Washington. In this role, you will   assist   the Client Executive in managing the team by developing and   maintaining   client relationships, while bringing   a high level   of   proficiency   in managing large projects within one or more markets.  

This role includes responsibility for project financial success, mentoring senior staff, and coordination with marketing and technical operations. The team supports commercial work with notable strength in Pacific Northwest seismic rehabilitation and utility-related structural projects, and this posting highlights future team leadership opportunities with an emphasis on leading teams, coaching and mentoring staff members, business development, and client relationship building, while contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What You'll Do  

• Grow the team’s project pipeline by building and   maintaining   strong client relationships,   identifying   opportunities for new business and repeat engagements, and being visible and active in the market and within the IMEG Selling Boldly program.  

• Manage client and project fees with a total aggregate value of approximately $2M.  

• Bring in   new projects on a regular basis.  

• Contribute directly or as a team member to new fees of approximately $1M on an annual basis.  

• Promote staff understanding of business development principles, emphasizing client relationships, market positioning, and strategic growth initiatives.  

• Participate in promotional activities that establish IMEG as an expert in selective markets.  

• Serve as a Project Manager on most assigned projects.  

• Take   a major role   in developing and   presenting for   client interviews.  

• Coordinate with the Client Executive and marketing department on business development opportunities and marketing efforts.  

• Participate in local market focused organizations and corporate market focused meetings to track market changes and trends and align business development messaging.  

• Be responsible for   the financial success of projects they manage or direct and   assist   the Client Executive in collection of accounts receivable on projects for which the team is responsible.  

• Support the efforts of the Technical Operations Team to provide technical training and consistency across Teams,   assist   with updating the marketing database with the team’s leads and proposals, and provide leadership and mentoring to senior staff on client relations and project management.  

What You'll Bring  

Required  

Education  

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, or higher, in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a similar related field preferred  

Experience  

• Significant stock ownership   representing , at a minimum, a clear, forward focused path to the Associate Principal level  

• Minimum 10 years   required , 15 years preferred, of project management, construction management, or related experience  

Required Skills/Abilities  

• Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook  

• Expert level mastery of the technical aspects of one’s discipline  

• Demonstrated aptitude to design/manage major projects  

• Ability to mentor, motivate, and lead others  

• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise  

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups  

• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays  

About the Team  

• Pacific Northwest structural team with a highly visible seismic retrofit and utility specialty.  

• Seismic rehabilitation for schools, fire stations, and police facilities.  

• SRGP / TAP assessment work across Oregon districts and public agencies.  

• Utility and power equipment qualification, especially transformers, reactors, and substations.  

• Recent work includes Clark Public Utilities Operations Center New Data Room, Utility Company, and Redmond Fire Station 404 Seismic Rehabilitation, Government / Municipal.

State of Washington Salary Range: $158,000.00-$203,000.00   per year  

The range listed above   represents   the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location   identified   above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.  

Individual compensation will be   determined   based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure
