Organization: SCM Sourcing VUMC IT Job Summary: IT Senior Sourcing Officer/Contract Manager oversees the full lifecycle of IT contracts—drafting, negotiation, execution, renewals, and closeout—while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable regulations. The role partners with IT, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Security to manage vendor risk, ensure appropriate contract terms (e.g., SLAs, data/privacy, liability, IP), maintain contract records and key dates, and support vendor performance and financial controls.

(Note: This role can be done remotely from most US locations, but the selected candidate must be able to attend occasional in-person team meetings and trainings at our Mt. Juliet, TN (Nashville) office. Travel expenses associated with these visits are the responsibility of the employee and may not be reimbursed.) .

Key Responsibilities: • Manage the contract lifecycle from intake through drafting, negotiation support, execution, amendments, renewals, and closeout.

• Translate business requirements into contract terms; coordinate redlines and approvals with Legal/Procurement.

• Maintain contract repository records (metadata, key dates, deliverables, obligations, and documents) and ensure audit readiness.

• Develop and maintain standard templates, clauses, and playbooks aligned to organizational policy.

• Support negotiation of pricing, service descriptions, payment terms, warranty, and acceptance criteria.

• Ensure contract terms align with sourcing strategies, budgets, and total cost of ownership objectives.

• Coordinate competitive solicitations (e.g., RFP/RFQ support) as applicable.

• Ensure contracts address information security, privacy, confidentiality, data ownership, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA where applicable).

• Coordinate third-party risk activities and ensure contract language reflects required controls (e.g., security addendum, BAA, incident notification).

• Identify and escalate contractual risks, non-standard terms, and compliance gaps; recommend mitigation strategies.

• Monitor renewals, expirations, and notice periods; drive timely renew/terminate decisions.

• Support purchase order alignment, and contract-to-payment controls.

• Track contract value, spend commitments, and savings/avoidance outcomes.

• Guide IT teams and business owners on contracting processes, timelines, and best practices.

• Train stakeholders on contract compliance, documentation standards, and vendor governance expectations.
