As a leading innovator in the U.S. financial services sector, Dave’s digital financial platform offers products designed to meet the credit needs of those underserved by traditional financial institutions. Dave’s offerings include its flagship ExtraCash product, providing members up to $500 within minutes. The company is on track to launch several new product offerings in 2026, including a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option.

Dave is focused on serving Americans who are financially vulnerable or living paycheck to paycheck. Dave is leading the charge in creating a new era of credit products that prioritizes speed, affordability, and accessibility, making it the go-to financial partner for those who need it most.

Dave is looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to build products and platforms that help our 12.4 million members improve their relationship with money. You’ll join either our Martech Squad or Member Intelligence Squad, two teams solving different problems with a shared focus on building thoughtful, scalable technology that creates a better experience for our members.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you’ll own meaningful technical problems across the stack, from backend services and integrations to web and mobile experiences. You’ll partner closely with Product, Design, Marketing, Operations, and other engineers to turn complex needs into reliable, maintainable systems.

Depending on team fit, you’ll join one of two squads:

Martech builds the platforms and integrations that power how Dave reaches, engages, and retains its 12.4 million members. The team enables personalized messaging, campaign execution, and lifecycle marketing at scale, helping ensure the right members get the right message at the right time. The squad also owns and evolves Dave’s marketing website, including performance, discoverability, SEO, and emerging AI-driven approaches to search.

Member Intelligence builds technology that helps Dave deliver exceptional customer experiences. The team owns internal tools and external integrations, including Zendesk, as well as member-facing experiences such as our AI-powered chatbot and IVR solutions. The squad continually explores how technology and AI can make member support more effective and intuitive.

WHAT YOU’LL BUILD AND OWN

- Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications and backend services using JavaScript and TypeScript.

- Build member-facing and internal experiences using technologies such as React and React Native.

- Own technical solutions from design through production, making thoughtful trade-offs between immediate needs and long-term scalability.

- Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Operations, and Infrastructure to define requirements and turn them into reliable products and systems.

- Deliver high-quality code supported by appropriate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, monitoring, and metrics.

- Provide technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, mentorship, pairing, and helping the team make sound technical decisions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 4+ years of software engineering experience building fullstack applications.

- Strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript and a solid foundation in computer science and problem-solving.

- Experience building user-focused interfaces with a modern UI framework such as React.

- Experience designing, building, and scaling backend services.

- Ability to discuss system architecture, component design, and the trade-offs behind technical decisions.

- Experience using monitoring and metrics to understand the health and performance of production systems.

- Strong communication skills and a track record of collaborating effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners.

- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and use it to improve both your work and the team’s outcomes.

BONUS POINTS

- Experience with Node.js.

- Experience building production mobile applications with React Native.

- Experience with marketing technology, lifecycle platforms, customer support systems, or third-party integrations.

- Experience building AI-powered products or integrating AI capabilities into customer-facing experiences.

- Experience improving web performance, SEO, or AI-driven search discoverability.

- Experience working in a startup or other environment where priorities and technical needs evolve.
