Cumming Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Automated Warehouse and Material Handling to support the delivery of a large-scale automated warehouse project. This role will manage construction activities involving automated material handling systems and coordinate execution across contractors, trades, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
Candidates should have construction project management experience with automated material handling systems such as ASRS, AGVs/AMRs, automated conveyors, or similar warehouse automation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Plan and manage project scope, schedule, budget, and execution.
• Manage construction activities associated with automated material handling systems, including ASRS, AGVs/AMRs, conveyor systems, and related warehouse infrastructure.
• Coordinate installation, commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover of automated equipment.
• Drive daily coordination between contractors, trades, automation vendors, consultants, and project partners.
• Resolve construction, installation, sequencing, and coordination issues that may impact project delivery.
• Monitor project scope and manage changes impacting cost, schedule, design, or execution.
• Develop and maintain project plans and action items from kickoff through completion.
• Coordinate design activities and permitting requirements to support construction and project schedule.
• Monitor contractor and vendor performance against project requirements and milestones.
• Coordinate with cost management and project controls teams on estimates, forecasts, cost reviews, and budget reconciliation.
• Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project requirements and quality.
• Prepare Project Management Plans, fee and budget proposals, and project cost and revenue projections.
• Support commissioning, operational readiness, and final turnover.
Knowledge and Skills Required • Construction project management experience involving automated material handling equipment.
• Experience with one or more of the following: • Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS)
• AGVs or Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
• Automated conveyor systems
• Other warehouse automation or material handling systems
• Experience managing equipment installation, commissioning, testing, or startup.
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors, trades, and equipment vendors.
• Experience managing project scope, schedule, cost, change, and contractor or vendor performance.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, design coordination, and permitting.
• Experience with project budgeting, forecasting, cost reviews, and project controls.
• High-bay warehouse, industrial, HVAC, or MEP experience is a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred.
• Experience: 7+ years of project management, engineering, construction management, or related project delivery experience.
• Automated warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or material handling project experience preferred.
• ASRS or other automated material handling systems experience preferred.
• Preferred Certifications: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, or LEED.

The salary range for this full-time role is $115,700.00-$161,966.69 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
