ROLE DESCRIPTION
Form Energy is hiring a Senior Product Manager to drive the creation of software products that deliver plant commissioning, operations, and service capabilities for commercially deployed battery energy storage system projects. As part of our Product Management team, you will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and commercial partners to translate complex needs into accessible, intuitive software solutions that deliver value to the company and our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to influence key customer touchpoints – you will be on the front lines of product development and positioned to shape how our product is deployed, operated, and maintained in the field. If you’re energized by building solutions that unlock value, efficiency, and scale, then come be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!
Relocation assistance is available.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Own and evolve the product roadmap for BESS commissioning, operations, and field service software — building on the existing foundation and scaling the suite (local/on-premise and cloud-based) to meet new deliverables as the fleet grows.
- Translate user needs, field feedback, and business objectives into clear product requirements, roadmaps, acceptance criteria, feature lists, and release plans.
- Partner closely with UX/UI designers to define and validate product features, and with software/firmware engineers, data engineers, test engineering, and field teams to ensure products meet feature maturity and performance requirements.
- Define, track, and act on product metrics and KPIs to prioritize the roadmap and demonstrate impact.
- Roll up your sleeves to unblock delivery – from writing user stories to triaging field issues to coordinating releases — in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities shift.
- Manage teams through iterative build-measure-learn cycles, continuously refining features based on KPIs, user feedback, and test outcomes.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- 5–7 years of product management experience (or closely related role), with responsibility shaping and delivering software applications with customer-facing impact.
- Familiarity working with integrated hardware and software products, and comfort navigating tradeoffs across firmware, hardware constraints, and software/UX.
- Energy industry experience and/or familiarity with BESS commissioning, edge device management, condition monitoring, incident response management, remote firmware/software updates, and operations.
- A user-centered mindset and comfort working directly with designers to define, prototype, and validate product features.
- Data fluency: you are skilled at defining metrics and KPIs and using data to drive roadmap and prioritization decisions.
- A roll-up-your-sleeves, get-it-done attitude — ready to wear multiple hats and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, paired with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
