About this role
We do Consulting Differently
The Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) practice at Berkeley Research Group (BRG) provides end-to-end advisory support to healthcare providers, payers, investors, and other stakeholders navigating complex strategic, operational, financial, and clinical challenges. Led by seasoned healthcare executives, operators, physicians, nurses, and other clinicians, IHS partners with organizations to drive sustainable performance improvement and long-term growth through strategic growth, operating model transformation, AI and digital enablement, clinical quality and patient care optimization, and revenue strategy—helping clients build resilient, future-ready healthcare enterprises in an increasingly complex environment. Our four core service offerings include: • Clinical and Quality Transformation • Business Transformation Advisory • Margin & Operational Improvement • AI & Digital Solutions
BRG’s Clinical and Quality Transformation (CQT) team helps providers improve care for their patients by implementing evidence-based best practices to enhance clinical quality, operational efficiency, and care delivery.
CQT’s broad-based engagements help providers transform how they deliver care through a combination of reduced complications and mortality, optimizing surgery quality and operations, improved throughput and length-of-stay reduction, improved emergency department performance, quality infrastructure enhancements, and more accurate clinical coding and documentation—helping organizations deliver better patient care and outcomes while most effectively utilizing their clinical resources and infrastructure.
The Senior Managing Consultant serves as a senior implementation leader and subject-matter expert, partnering with acute care hospitals and health systems to lead complex, multi-workstream clinical quality and operational transformation initiatives. This role is designed for seasoned healthcare operators who have worked “in the trenches” and can translate strategy into sustainable execution across clinical, operational, and administrative environments.
The Clinical Quality Senior Managing Consultant works closely with hospital executives, physician leaders, and frontline teams to drive measurable improvements in clinical quality, patient outcomes, operational performance, and publicly reported metrics through hands-on implementation and change leadership.
Willing to travel consistently (50% - 75%), depending on project requirements and client expectations, is required for this position.
Responsibilities • Lead delivery of complex, multi-workstream clinical quality and performance transformation engagements, partnering directly with hospital executive leadership to ensure alignment across clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders. • Own end-to-end workplan execution, coordinating cross-functional teams and driving accountability to achieve measurable clinical quality, operational, and financial outcomes. • Bring deep expertise in acute care hospital operations and transformation, with a strong ability to leverage EMR and performance data to inform decision-making and drive sustainable workflow change. • Translate strategic objectives into practical, implementable solutions that can be operationalized by physicians, nursing leaders, and frontline teams. • Build and maintain trusted, collaborative relationships with physicians and clinical leaders to drive adoption of evidence-based practices and consistent standards of care. • Lead implementation efforts across areas such as quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, sepsis, surgical quality, complications, mortality, readmissions, and performance scorecards. • Guide hospitals in optimizing performance on national quality and public reporting programs, including CMS Care Compare and other regulatory and benchmarking frameworks. • Support regulatory readiness and ongoing compliance related to CMS, state health departments, and other oversight bodies. • Translate complex clinical, operational, and performance data into clear, actionable insights for C-suite leaders and governing bodies. • Monitor progress against defined metrics and scorecards, ensuring initiatives deliver sustained outcomes beyond initial implementation. • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing project teams, fostering strong collaboration, accountability, and results orientation. • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior hospital and health system leaders, particularly in complex or resource-constrained environments.
Qualifications • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in acute care or healthcare settings, with a strong emphasis on hospital operations, clinical quality, performance improvement, and transformation. • Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or a closely related field. Advanced degree (MPH, MHA, MSN, MBA, or similar) preferred. • Professional certifications (e.g., CPHQ, CIC, Lean/Six Sigma) preferred. • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale implementation initiatives, including but extending beyond assessments or strategy design. • Proven ability to partner effectively with physicians, nursing leaders, and executive teams to drive change and adoption of evidence-based practices. • Strong working knowledge of hospital operations, EMR systems, quality metrics, and performance scorecards. • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams focused on patient outcomes, quality, and operational performance. • Excellent executive communication, facilitation, and change management skills.
Salary Range: $ 125,000 - $200 ,000 Job title and compensation to be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
