Position Summary Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manager of MEP Facility Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process piping engineers. This team designs new and modified facility systems and oversees the health and reliability of existing systems across multiple Blue Origin locations. The Senior Manager is responsible for the technical quality, execution, and professional growth of the team, partnering closely with operations, manufacturing, and program stakeholders to deliver facility infrastructure that enables Blue Origin's mission. This is a people-leadership role requiring the ability to manage and develop engineers who are distributed across several sites. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process piping engineers distributed across multiple locations. • Oversee the design of new and modified facility systems — including HVAC, electrical power and distribution, plumbing, and process piping — ensuring designs are safe, code-compliant, constructible, and cost-effective. • Direct the ongoing monitoring and assessment of existing system health, driving proactive maintenance, reliability improvements, and timely resolution of deficiencies. • Establish and enforce engineering standards, design review gates, and quality processes to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables across all sites. • Balance and prioritize workload across the team to meet project schedules and shifting program demands while managing to budget and headcount. • Partner with operations, manufacturing, program management, and construction/integration teams to align facility engineering scope with customer needs and program milestones. • Review and approve engineering deliverables; ensure appropriate involvement of licensed professional engineers (PEs) and adherence to signed-and-sealed requirements where applicable. • Support capital planning, project scoping, and resource forecasting for facility expansion and modification efforts. • Recruit, hire, and onboard engineering talent to scale the team in line with growing demand. • Travel between sites as needed to support the team, engage stakeholders, and assess systems and projects in the field.

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline. • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including experience in facilities, building systems, or industrial MEP design. • 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams. • Demonstrated technical breadth across two or more MEP disciplines (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process piping). • Experience managing distributed or multi-site teams. • Strong understanding of applicable building codes, standards, and the design/construction lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications • Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, industrial, or other complex manufacturing/test environments. • Experience with process piping systems and specialty fluids/gases. • Familiarity with design tools such as Revit/BIM and common-data-environment workflows. • Experience partnering with operations and manufacturing on facility turnover and commissioning. • Track record of building and scaling in-house engineering capability.
