Job Posting Title: Senior Manager, Finance Req ID: 10158333 Job Description: The Senior Manager, Finance will play a leadership role in providing management with financial and analytical support across the TV Content Marketing Finance Center-of-Excellence (COE), a newly created centralized operating model within Disney Entertainment Television (DET). This new function will provide management with robust reporting and actionable insights to allow Marketing to maximize and optimize its budgeted spend in support of content promotion. The TV Content Marketing Finance COE will manage all content marketing and publicity investments consisting of hundreds of titles across multiple unique brands.
This Senior Manager will have a wide-range of responsibilities, including brand finance support across ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Kids & Family, Freeform, and National Geographic. Reporting to the Director, Finance, this position will support both brand and functional COE Marketing leaders as well as own labor and overhead financial planning for the DET Marketing organization.
It is imperative that the Sr. Manager, Finance be flexible and able to pivot as this organization continues to evolve at a rapid pace.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role: • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney Kids & Family, Freeform, and National Geographic marketing and serve as primary finance support for COE teams (Publicity, Talent Relations, Awards). Provide necessary inputs to Marketing & Finance leadership in support of broader initiatives as well as AOP, LRP and Forecast processes.
• Provide Marketing Finance COE leadership with reporting and insights each forecast; identify risks and opportunities, key trade-offs, and relevant strategic issues.
• Partner with brand, marketing, and finance teams to support ad-hoc strategy and analysis projects for assigned areas.
• Work closely with Controllership to ensure constant alignment between budget/forecast and actualized spend at a by title/by function level to ensure Marketing is able to maximize its spend within the confines of its annual budget
• Own the end-to-end labor and overhead planning process for DET Marketing, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly close support, and long-range planning.
• Partner with Marketing leadership, HR, Business Management, and Controllership to deliver labor & overhead reporting, variance analysis, and actionable recommendations that optimize resource allocation while ensuring alignment with financial commitments and organizational priorities.
• Support the development & standardization of new processes, templates and ways of interfacing with Marketing across brands and COE functions to successfully and consistently manage marketing budgets and provide accurate financial reporting as needed. This will include: • Operating as central point of contact for brand and segment finance partners in assigned areas and provide a holistic agency perspective for leadership
• Providing ongoing title-level tracking and reporting, highlighting key business impacts
• Establishing standardized data sets across agency / brands
Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training: • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in the television industry with a baseline knowledge of marketing finance, FP&A processes and deliverables.
• Leads through change and champions new technologies and operational efficiencies with a strong learning mindset.
• Experience effectively leading others and developing structure around ambiguity in a newly created organizational model.
• Exceptional ability to present complex financial data to senior-level executives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, financial modeling, and decision-making skills.
• Self-motivated, independent thinker with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent proactive and adaptive communication skills, executive presence, and strong attention to detail.
• Experience with SAP and similar reporting systems is a plus.
• Prior experience leading and developing a team of finance professionals
The hiring range for this position in California is $152,800.00-$186,600.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
