About this role
This role requires an auditor who demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an adequate understanding of business processes, and control environments. Auditors in this role should have experience in applying their professional judgement and audit knowledge in evaluating control design, operating effectiveness, and underlying risks. Essential duties include participation in Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance assessments, operational and compliance audits, investigations, and other projects. A strong candidate will possess working knowledge of professional auditing standards and the ability to perform and communicate audit results and conclusions in accordance with the standards and departmental policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, business, or a related discipline required • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an audit and/or accounting environment • Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm’s internal audit practice and/or industry experience preferred • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Professional certification preferred (CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.) • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment • Willing to travel domestically or internationally, if necessary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Execute risk‑based assurance activities including operational, financial, regulatory, and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) engagements under the direction of Internal Audit management. • Examine and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the company’s system of internal control under the COSO Internal Control Integrated framework in compliance with SOX Section 404. • Apply professional skepticism and sound judgment when executing audit procedures to verify the operating effectiveness of controls, identify control gaps, inefficiencies, and emerging risks. • Develop a working understanding of the organization’s end-to-end business processes and key business cycles (e.g., revenue, procurement/payables, treasury, payroll/human resources) to evaluate risks and controls within the proper operational and strategic context and identify opportunities for improvement. • Document SOX testing and audit results/conclusions in accordance with professional auditing standards and departmental policies and procedures. • Work on an independent basis as well as in a team environment; work collaboratively with internal and external auditors, business process owners, and management. • Other duties as assigned by management.
