Job Description

The Senior Director, N orth America (NA)   Token & Chip   is responsible for   the   success of network tokens and EMV   chip /contactless   in   North America.   This leader will   d efine   a strategy   for   token   and   chip   in North America , ensuring that these platforms continue to   support   delightful   and   reliable   user experiences as payments evolve. To   achieve th is ,   this individual wil l   lead   go -to-market   activities to   meet both   in - year and Visa 2030 goals,   own the   regional roadmap for network tokens and chip/contactless,   and   serve as the senior product representative for these platforms   to clients and internal   client-facing teams.       Responsibilities:

• Define   a North American   strategy to reach token ubiquity in   e ‑ commerce ;   translate strategy into measurable   tasks and workstreams .  

• Own the regional product roadmap for   network   tokens   and   EMV chip/contactless .    

• Identify   and accelerate new   token and chip use cases relevant to NA based on client and market feedback.  

• Collaborate   closely with clients, internal client-facing teams, and   global   product counterparts to   align regional needs with global   objectives .   

• Lead a   high ‑ performing ,   cross ‑ functional   product office (direct and virtual team); provide clear   objectives , decision frameworks, and escalation paths.  

• Represent   t oken &   c hip   externally   with   clients (issuers, acquirers, processors) and   industry bodies .    

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.  

Qualifications

Basic qualifications: • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD), or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred qualifications: • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD), PhD with 9+ years of experience  

• 12–15+ years in payments with   significant time   in product management   and/or commercialization.   

• Deep familiarity with network tokenization and EMV chip/contactless acceptance.   

• Experience   partnering   with   issuers, acquirers, gateways, and large merchants   ( e.g.   commercial drivers, technical considerations)  

• Strong commercial acumen,   including an   understanding of core payment economics and drivers   

• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication; ability to lead across a matrix and influence without authority.   

• Hands ‑ on   experience with VTS/token programs, token requestor ecosystems, and issuance/processor integrations .  

• MBA or relevant advanced degree.  

• People leadership experience (building, coaching, performance management of product and program managers)  

Information for US Applicants For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $229,000 to $400,900 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program. Work Hours Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
