About this role
Senior Director, Development Infrastructure and Operations Description - Microfluidics Technology Development (MTD) organization is seeking a Senior Director of Development, Infrastructure, and Operations (DIO) to lead a complex, multi-disciplinary organization responsible for manufacturing, prototyping, testing, and enterprise infrastructure supporting advanced microfluidics and semiconductor technologies.
This role is accountable for delivering operational excellence across production and development environments while driving digital transformation, enabling innovation, and ensuring a reliable, compliant, and cost-effective infrastructure. The Senior Director will play a critical leadership role in aligning strategy with execution and shaping the future of site capabilities.
Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Delivery • Lead end-to-end execution of production, prototyping, and test operations across fab, assembly, and R&D environments.
• Ensure delivery against volume, cost, quality, and cycle-time commitments.
• Drive continuous improvement in throughput, yield, and development learning cycles.
• Maintain operational continuity during escalations and rapidly changing business conditions.
• Provide face-up responsibilities for ISDO on all West Coast Production
Infrastructure, Facilities & Systems Management • Own performance, reliability, and lifecycle management of facilities, IT infrastructure, and operational systems. Act as MTD face up for CREWS, Corporate EHS, Corporate IT, and Cybersecurity
• Deliver high availability (≥99.5% uptime targets), safety, and compliance across all operations.
• Lead capital projects, site upgrades, and construction initiatives to support future growth.
• Optimize infrastructure and operational cost structures while maintaining service quality for MTD.
• Provide support, direction, and escalation support for MTI/ISDO/CPSS Bus. Info. Sec. Officer.
• Lead site BCP planning and serve as Corvallis and NW Incident Command Lead for the BU’s.
Strategy, Transformation & Innovation • Drive digital transformation initiatives including AI/analytics deployment and digital twin implementation across the WW fabs.
• Establish and mature data governance frameworks to enable data-driven decision making.
• Partner across business, engineering, and IT to deliver scalable technology solutions.
• Enable new product introduction, incubation programs, and platform expansion efforts.
Financial & Business Accountability • Lead capital planning, budgeting, and cost management across operations and infrastructure.
• Deliver cost efficiency improvements while maintaining operational performance.
• Secure and manage external funding (e.g., CHIPS programs, energy incentives).
• Improve financial transparency and reporting processes to support decision-making.
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development • Lead and develop a large, multi-layer organization of managers, engineers, and technicians.
• Drive workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development strategies.
• Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Upskill workforce capabilities, particularly in AI, digital tools, and advanced manufacturing.
Site Leadership & External Engagement • Serve as a Corvallis Site Council leader driving governance, site engagement, and strategic alignment across all the L2’s and L3’s represented at the site.
• Lead executive reviews, site councils, and cross-functional leadership forums including bimonthly all-employee and all-manager meetings for the Corvallis Site across all shifts.
• Represent the organization in external partnerships, government programs, and community engagement efforts as assigned or required for site operations.
• Provide leadership for Corvallis Site Engagement teams and interface/escalation point with corporate Inclusion Organization.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., RBA, ISO, OSHA).
Qualifications & Experience Required • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (advanced degree preferred).
• 15+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, operations, infrastructure, or engineering environments.
• Proven experience leading large, cross-functional organizations in complex technical settings.
• Demonstrated success delivering production, development, and infrastructure commitments at scale.
• Strong financial acumen -- experience managing capital planning, budgets, and cost optimization.
• Experience leading operational excellence initiatives (e.g., cycle time reduction, cost improvement, yield optimization).
• Deep experience with infrastructure systems, including facilities, IT, and operational technology.
• Track record of delivering results in highly regulated environments with strong safety and compliance standards.
Preferred • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, microfluidics, advanced manufacturing, or related industries.
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives (AI, analytics, digital twin, data governance).
• Familiarity with government funding programs, such as CHIPS Act or similar initiatives.
• Experience leading global or multi-site organizations and cross-regional teams.
• Strong background in change management, organizational design, and workforce transformation.
