About this role

Primary Location Remote Department IS Digital Health Shift Day (United States of America) Schedule Full time Weekly Hours 40 FTE 1 Employee Status Regular   *Expected Starting Pay Range $91,520.00 - $116,688.00 *Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

  Join Cincinnati Children's Information Services as a Senior Developer – Digital Health and help to develop, deliver and support innovative interface and integrations to advance the future of pediatric healthcare. Working on HL7 interfaces, FHIR APIs and/or AI solutions, you will play a key role in driving our integration framework to the next operational and strategic levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Development  

• Design and produce new and enhanced software.  

• Codes, tests, debugs, documents and implements software applications.  

• Conduct business analysis, test new software code and typically   works   in a highly efficient (Agile) development environment.  

• Perform maintenance and support efforts for large/complex platforms or a portfolio of applications.  

• Ensures   system improvements are successfully implemented.  

Collaboration  

• Serve as senior liaison to internal and external groups, both technical and non-technical.  

• Assess and synthesize complex user requirements.  

• Develop detailed work breakdown structures and implementation plans which align with the development lifecycle as well as internal/external best practices.  

• Complete internal reviews of code and other artifacts/deliverables.  

• Execute testing efforts including data validation and information security reviews.  

Requirements Gathering  

• Contribute significantly to the development of business, user and system requirements.  

• Analyzes requirements, tests and integrates application components across multiple efforts for alignment and overlap, and design solutions that can be scaled and reused across multiple projects and domains.  

• Design and implement interfaces to securely access data from internal and external sources.  

Support  

• Provide advanced technical support for a large/complex platform or portfolio of existing applications and interfaces.  

• Develop and maintain library of problems and corresponding solutions.  

• Manage documentation for support including filling in all documentation required for support tickets.  

Planning  

• Participate in short-range planning and provide input to long-range planning.  

• Mentor other developers.  

• Interview resources.  

J OB QUALIFICATIONS  

• Bachelor's degree in a related field  

• 5+ years of work experience in a related job discipline  

• 2+ years of HL7 interface message development and message queuing  

• Preferred experience with Mirth Interface Engine
