How we LEAD:
We seek an experienced and driven Sr. Data Product Manager – Streaming & Social within the Global Data & Analytics Products team.
As AI transforms how artists are discovered, audiences are understood, and content performance is optimized; trusted consumption data becomes a strategic enterprise asset. In this role, you will ensure UMG's streaming and social data products are AI-ready by design—governed, semantically consistent, observable, and trusted—enabling analytics, predictive models, intelligent agents, and generative AI applications to reliably consume music consumption data at enterprise scale. You'll also embrace AI as part of your own product management practice, using modern AI tools to accelerate discovery, documentation, prototyping, and collaboration while maintaining a relentless focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.
You are passionate about treating data as a product and building trusted, scalable data foundations that enable data-driven decision-making across UMG. You understand that great data products require more than pipelines—they require clear ownership, reliability, governance, usability, and stakeholder trust. In this role, you will lead the strategy and execution of enterprise data products and domain-specific data marts that serve as the authoritative source of truth for music consumption and streaming/social engagement across UMG. These products will power reporting, analytics, predictive modeling, AI applications, intelligent audience insights, artist development, repertoire strategy, marketing effectiveness, forecasting, and executive decision-making. By establishing trusted, governed, and semantically rich data products, you will help create the enterprise data foundation that enables AI-driven insights and intelligent decision-support across UMG.
You will partner closely with Global Insights, Commercial Strategy, Digital Business, Marketing, Label Analytics, Data Engineering, and Governance teams to define, build, and continuously improve trusted data products that are reliable, discoverable, and broadly adopted across the organization.
You will champion product management principles within the data ecosystem, ensuring consumption & social data products have clear roadmaps, service levels, semantic definitions, documentation, quality standards, and measurable business outcomes.
This role reports to the Sr. Director of Product Management (Data Platform).
How you’ll CREATE: • Champion AI-ready data products by ensuring trusted business definitions, semantic consistency, metadata, lineage, observability, documentation, and governance are embedded into every streaming and social data product. • Ensure data products are designed to support emerging AI capabilities—including semantic retrieval, recommendation systems, intelligent agents, and LLM-powered experiences—through high-quality, well-governed enterprise data • Partner with Commercial Strategy, Global Insights, Label Analytics, Marketing, Finance, and Digital Business teams to define trusted business metrics, KPIs, and standardized consumption definitions. • Manage the lifecycle of external consumption data sources, ensuring licensed datasets are consistently ingested, governed, documented, monitored, and integrated into trusted enterprise data products. • Define scalable dimensional models and semantic layers supporting streaming activity, audience engagement, artists, releases, tracks, playlists, social engagement, territories, and commercial performance. • Establish authoritative data products that serve as the source of truth for music consumption performance across labels, artists, releases, and markets. • Standardize business definitions for metrics, including streams, listeners, followers, saves, playlist reach, engagement, audience growth, chart performance, market share, and consumption trends. • Partner with engineering teams to implement SLAs, monitoring, observability, incident management, and operational support processes. • Establish and maintain data contracts with internal and external consumption data providers to improve reliability and predictability. • Drive adoption of consumption data products through business-friendly documentation, semantic models, stakeholder enablement, and training. • Evaluate opportunities to improve business outcomes by applying AI to music consumption, audience behavior, and content performance while maintaining strong governance and data quality standards.
