The Senior Counsel, Manager will primarily lead a team of attorneys supporting HP Inc. end-user sales transactions with North America commercial and state, local government, and education (SLED) customers, as well as take on projects as necessary within the entire PSCO legal team.

The successful candidate will be able to hone and expand their skills working with a highly experienced and talented team.  The position is a manager of people role and will report to the Associate General Counsel in PSCO Legal.  In this role you will: • Provide legal expertise in support of the entire HP Inc. portfolio in the U.S. and Canada for commercial customers, specifically Hardware (PC and Print), Software, and Services. • Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to manage team escalations in solving common and complex legal issues within established policies.  • Routinely exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and criteria for achieving objectives. • Contribute to the development of innovative principles and ideas. • Act as a trusted advisor to the business on legal issues and the legal impact of business issues. • Draft and negotiate legal contract terms. • Identify and resolve complex legal issues requiring in-depth consideration of multiple factors. • Lead or assist with the resolution of contract disputes with existing customers. • Plan and provide training to internal clients on designated legal topics. • Provide guidance on process improvements and recommend changes in alignment with legal strategy.  • Manage exempt individual contributors. • Manage outside legal vendors.

The successful candidate will have: • a Juris Doctor from a nationally recognized law school plus an active bar membership from any of the fifty states or the District of Columbia; • 10+ years of relevant legal experience (from a combination of law firm, government, and/or in-house experience) in the area of commercial contracts • experience representing a major IT company on contract matters a plus; • leadership attributes important to HP and the Legal department: • acts with highest levels of integrity and transparency • listens and communicates within all levels and groups in the company • builds trust and collaboration within formal and ad hoc teams • takes ownership and initiative to simplify and improve work • translates legal risk into pragmatic business choices • enjoys a creative approach to problem-solving • prioritizes and manages an ever-changing portfolio of multiple projects • thrives in change • adopts a growth mindset approach • the ability to travel as needed

The pay range for this role is $165,450 to $215,000 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
