About this role

Job Classification: Technology - Agile, Delivery, & Product

As a  Business Analyst  on the Retirement Strategies Institutional Platform, you will partner with product, journey, technology, design, and readiness teams to shape and improve technology solutions supporting Prudential’s Institutional product lines. You will serve as a key link between business partners and agile teams—leading discovery, clarifying needs, defining requirements, and helping translate complex business problems into practical, high-value solutions for our customers.

This role requires strong analytical thinking, sound business judgment, and the ability to work across functions to move work from early discovery through delivery and launch readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong communication and collaboration skills, comfort working in agile environments, and a learning mindset that helps teams adapt, improve, and deliver value faster.

This will be a hybrid role based out of Scranton, PA, Fort Washington, PA. or Newark, NJ. For exceptionally well-qualified candidates, Virtual working arrangement may be considered, with expectation of travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product and journey leads to lead discovery of business and customer needs, including organizing and facilitating discovery efforts, documenting current and future states, and contributing to minimum viable product definition

• Lead research and analysis activities needed to define, refine, and scope features and stories ahead of delivery

• Refine the product backlog with agile team members, serving as a subject matter expert from discovery work and supporting feature and user story development

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Tech Leads, Designers, and other team members to ensure solutions are well understood, well defined, and aligned to intended business value

• Support testing and validation efforts, where applicable, to ensure acceptance criteria are met through activities such as smoke testing, functional testing, and regression support

• Build knowledge of business processes and serve as a liaison between business partners and agile teams, helping answer questions, clarify needs, and support effective decision-making

• Partner with UX and organizational readiness teams to gather requirements, prepare for launch, and ensure end users have the documentation, support, and context needed for successful adoption

• Help ensure product features and stories align with product vision and priorities by reviewing work, providing feedback, and supporting backlog readiness and sequencing

• Drive clarity across ambiguous problem spaces by aligning stakeholders, surfacing trade-offs, and helping teams move from discovery to delivery with confidence

What You Can Expect

• Support product and journey leadership in setting an ambitious and clear product vision and communicating that vision effectively to stakeholders and team members

• Work on significant and often complex problems where analysis requires evaluation of multiple business, process, technology, data, and customer considerations

• Apply independent judgment in assessing needs, identifying options, and helping shape approaches that influence product direction and delivery outcomes

• Operate with meaningful autonomy while collaborating closely across business and technology teams

• Contribute to product planning and roadmap activities by connecting discovery insights, delivery priorities, and business needs

• Play an important role in improving how teams learn, refine, and deliver in agile environments

What You’ll Need

• Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes needed to make sound decisions in the context of Prudential’s business

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

• Ability to learn continuously through self-initiative, experimentation, and new challenges

• Ability to manage shifting priorities, work across multiple stakeholders, and meet ambitious timelines

• Strong business   insight   and sound judgment when working through ambiguity

Applied experience and/or expertise with several of the following

• Effective Communication:  Ability to clearly transmit, receive, and interpret information, and to facilitate dialogue at the right level of detail for a range of audiences across business and technology teams

• Decision-Making and Critical Thinking:  Ability to analyze situations thoughtfully, evaluate trade-offs, and support productive decisions based on informed judgment

• Business Acumen:  Ability to apply business knowledge appropriately across varied situations and connect day-to-day work to broader outcomes

• Interpersonal Relationships:  Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with a variety of individuals and groups, including business partners, product leaders, and software developers

• Analytical Thinking:  Ability to identify patterns, determine root causes, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions to complex problems

• Data Synthesis and Storytelling:  Ability to analyze and synthesize data, surface key findings and opportunities, and communicate insights   in a way that is clear   and compelling to stakeholders

The ideal candidate is a change champion who is willing to challenge the status quo, explore innovative solutions, and help teams deliver value in smarter and more efficient ways.

• Travel may be required (approximately 5–10%)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

• Strong working knowledge of the Pension Risk Transfer business is a plus
