About this role

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Securities Operations Specialist to join the Domestic Settlements team. This role is critical to supporting the accurate and timely settlement of equity, fixed income, and other securities transactions across domestic markets. Team members partner closely with internal business groups, counterparties, custodians, and market utilities to ensure operational excellence, minimize risk, and maintain regulatory compliance.

The Domestic Settlements team plays a key role in supporting the firm's strategic objectives by delivering reliable post-trade processing, enhancing operational controls, driving process improvements, and supporting modernization initiatives across the settlement lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with exposure to financial markets, industry infrastructure, and continuous improvement efforts that directly contribute to the success of Wells Fargo and its clients.

In this role, you will: • Support the daily settlement of domestic securities transactions through industry utilities including The Depository Trust Company (DTC) and Federal Reserve settlement platforms, ensuring timely and accurate completion of trade activity

• Monitor and process equity, fixed income, and cash settlement transactions while adhering to established operational controls, regulatory requirements, and service level expectations

• Research, analyze, and resolve settlement exceptions, trade breaks, cash and position discrepancies, aged items, and out-of-balance conditions by partnering with internal business partners, counterparties, custodians, and market utilities

• Investigate and resolve low to moderately complex operational issues by evaluating transaction activity, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risk

• Review and reconcile securities and cash balances across internal systems and external sources to ensure the integrity of settlement activity and general ledger reporting

• Collaborate with front office, middle office, treasury, technology, risk, and external counterparties to resolve trade-related inquiries and achieve successful settlement outcomes

• Exercise independent judgment in managing time-sensitive transactions and understanding settlement workflow controls to minimize operational risk and prevent settlement failures

• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve controls, reduce manual effort, and enhance operational efficiency through automation, standardization, and process redesign initiatives

• Participate in and support implementation of strategic initiatives, regulatory changes, system enhancements, and industry modernization efforts impacting domestic settlement operations

• Analyze operational metrics, trends, and recurring issues to recommend solutions that improve client experience, reduce risk, and increase overall team effectiveness

• Support daily production activities, including monitoring settlement queues, exception inventories, funding requirements, and critical deadlines to ensure business objectives are met

• Contribute to procedure documentation, knowledge sharing, and cross-training efforts to strengthen team resiliency and maintain a strong control environment

Required Qualifications: • 2+ years of Securities Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following:  work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications: • 2+ years experience supporting domestic securities settlement operations, including DTC/DTCC and Federal Reserve settlement activity

• 1+ years experience with SEI and/or BETA securities processing platforms

• Knowledge of equity, fixed income, and cash settlement processes

• Experience researching and resolving trade, cash, and position breaks

• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across operations, technology, and business teams

• Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.

Job Expectations: • Ability to work a hybrid schedule, three (3) days in office and two (2) days, remote at posted location

• Ability to work additional hours as needed
