Location: San Diego, CA

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $110,000 - $120,000

About Us

We are a venture-backed, stealth-stage biotechnology company based in San Diego, focused on developing novel technologies that will redefine how disease is detected, characterized, and managed with a novel approach to clinical genomics. Our mission is to fundamentally transform healthcare through a convergence of innovation across multiple scientific disciplines.

Founded by industry veterans with decades of experience in life sciences tools and diagnostics, our leadership team brings a proven track record of translating scientific insight into successful commercial products. Our investors include some of the most respected names in healthcare and deep tech.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, curious, and proactive Scientist to help develop and integrate novel biochemistry workflows for multi-omics applications. This role is well suited for a recent B.S. or M.S. graduate with strong scientific fundamentals, hands-on research experience, and the drive to learn quickly in a highly interdisciplinary environment.

The Scientist will work at the interface of reagent biochemistry, protein engineering, synthetic and surface chemistry, instrumentation, and bioinformatics. You will contribute to reagent and workflow optimization, characterize reagents and components, and collaborate with engineering teams to integrate workflows on the company’s platform.

The candidate must be detail-oriented, analytical, and collaborative, thriving in a dynamic environment that values innovation, cross-disciplinary interaction, and scientific rigor. The ideal candidate is curious and a fast learner, unintimidated by climbing steep learning curves and going deep into the details of a new technology.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare, optimize, and characterize reagent formulations that support our platform development.

· Run reagent robustness, compatibility, and stability studies, and use results to improve workflows.

· Set up and runs on internal system prototypes with mentoring as needed.

· Execute and help develop analytical assays, such as fluorescence plate-reader assays, HPLC, qPCR, or related methods.

· Collect, organize, and interpret experimental data; identify trends, issues, and practical next steps.

· Collaborate with scientists and engineers across disciplines to troubleshoot experiments and advance company goals.

· Document methods, results, observations, and decisions clearly; contribute to protocols, SOPs, technical reports, and knowledge sharing.

· Support lab organization, formulate reagents, maintain equipment, ensure compliance with safety and reproducibility practices.

Qualifications

· B.S. or M.S. in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.

· Hands on research experience (undergraduate or graduate research, internships or similar project based scientific work).

· Demonstrated motivation, curiosity, proactivity, and willingness to learn new scientific and technical areas.

· Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

· Ability to work both independently and with guidance in a cross-functional, fast-moving research environment.

· Comfortable working around prototype instruments, custom hardware, or early-stage systems is a plus.

· Interest in data analysis, scripting, or modifying code to help interpret experiments is a plus but not required.

Why Join Us

· Influence the foundational technologies and strategies of a company poised to shape the future of clinical genomics and healthcare.

· Work in a dynamic, collaborative environment where innovation and scientific rigor are deeply valued.

· Join a seasoned and multidisciplinary team tackling high-impact problems at the intersection of science and engineering.

· Competitive compensation and equity package, comprehensive benefits, and flexibility to support work-life integration.

We are an equal opportunity employer. We thrive on diversity and collaboration.
