About this role
We are seeking Sample Prep Scientist to join IQVIA Laboratories at Ithaca, NY. We hire passionate innovators who drive healthcare forward through thoughtful and inclusive collaboration. Job Summary: Responsible for preparing biological samples, solutions, and reagents for subsequent analysis while supporting laboratory operations in a regulated environment. This role contributes to process improvements, training of junior staff, troubleshooting activities, and automation initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and compliance. What You'll Be Doing: • Execute laboratory techniques to prepare biological samples for analytical testing • Perform extractions, tissue preparation, purification, and other sample preparation activities according to established procedures • Train and mentor junior laboratory staff in assigned areas of technical competency • Troubleshoot laboratory processes and assist with continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality and efficiency • Document testing activities in accordance with SOPs, GLP requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines • Support laboratory automation initiatives and workflow optimization efforts • Maintain laboratory equipment, inventory, and housekeeping standards consistent with 6S practices
What We Are Looking For: • Bachelor's Degree required; other equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • 2 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment • Proficiency with pipetting techniques and complex laboratory calculations involving batches and specimens • Knowledge of Hamilton Robotics liquid handling systems • Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role: • Strong technical knowledge of complex testing procedures and the scientific principles supporting analysis • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and resolve process-related issues efficiently • Effective communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high-quality standards • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $46,200.00 - $96,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
