About this role

ABOUT FLUIDSTACK

We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.

We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.

We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!

HOW WE OPERATE

- Be a barrel. Full autonomy. Own things end to end, take on scope without being asked, no permission required to operate outside your core role.

- Insane urgency. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.

- Reason from first principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.

- Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.

- Build something that actually matters. If you're going to spend your time, spend it on something that matters to the world.

THE HSE TEAM

Examples of key problems the team is working on

- Own safety on gigawatts of high-energy infrastructure, built from zero. Headcount and sites are scaling faster than institutional knowledge can keep up. The gap between a control written on paper and one actually applied in the field is where fatalities happen.

- Keep a 24/7 workforce running at full intensity, not sidelined by injury. Fatigue, shift work, and high-energy exposure compound on the people running the sites and show up as injuries or claims if no one is tracking them. The work is to catch them first.

- Keep environmental compliance ahead of the fastest build in the industry. Behind-the-meter generation spans multiple states, each with its own air permit conditions, runtime limits, and reporting deadlines, and the company adds sites faster than any manual compliance model can keep up with.

ROLE SCOPE

Leadership & Strategy

- Direct and manage facility HSE programs, policies, and initiatives.

- Establish safety goals, KPIs, and improvement plans aligned with corporate objectives.

- Lead safety committees, cross-functional teams, and employment engagement efforts.

- Provide coaching and leadership to supervisors and frontline employees.

Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926, NFPA standards, and state/local requirements.

- Develop and maintain written programs (e.g., LOTO, machine guarding, hazcom, confined space, etc.).

- Manage OSHA 300 logs, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements.

- Prepare for, coordinate, and respond to regulatory inspections.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

- Conduct routine facility inspections, audits, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).

- Identify and prioritize hazards using risk assessment tools and matrices.

- Oversee corrective action tracking and verify closure of findings.

- Evaluate new equipment, processes, and materials for safety impacts.

Incident Management

- Lead investigations for injuries, near misses, property damage, and environmental events.

- Perform root cause analysis using methods such as 5 Whys or fishbone diagrams.

- Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)

- Communicate trends and lessons learned to leadership and employees.

Emergency Preparedness

- Maintain and update emergency response plans (fire, chemical release, medical emergencies).

- Lead evacuation drills and emergency response team training.

- Coordinate with first responders and emergency agencies.

- You've owned safety at a manufacturing or heavy-industrial site, on the floor, not from an office.

- You've investigated real incidents and driven corrective actions that changed how work gets done.

- Operators bring you problems early because you fix things instead of writing people up.

- You've built training that crews remember at the moment it matters.

- You know OSHA general industry requirements cold and apply them with judgment.

- Bonus: OSHA 30/500. CSP or ASP track. Fabrication or heavy assembly environments. Startup or greenfield sites. Spanish fluency.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
