About the Unit HDVCH Academic Pediatric Residency is a bustling and dedicated practice that includes a team of 83 residents and 8 attending physicians that oversee the residents. Our team is committed to being the medical home of patients ages 0 – 21 years, meeting their needs for annual well child and sick visits.. We take immense pride in the strong relationships we build with our patients, their families, and our colleagues, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment. Our support staff is composed of registered nurses (RNs), medical assistants/ambulatory clinical technicians (MA/ACTs), ambulatory clinical clerical technicians (ACCTs), and patient service representatives (PSRs). Each member of our team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and the delivery of high-quality care. MAs assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting in procedures. Candidates for this position should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational, communication and time management skills They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and providing high-quality patient care.

About Outpatient Clinics  Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. 

Scope of work    As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications    • High School Diploma or equivalent Required

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required • 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days

• One of the following Required within 120 Days • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA
