As a Registered Nurse in Cleveland Clinic's Vascular Medicine Department, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care while working alongside a collaborative team of healthcare professionals. From welcoming patients at the start of their visit to supporting them through treatment and recovery, you'll build meaningful relationships with patients and their families while providing education, guidance and compassionate care. In this unique outpatient setting, you'll care for patients receiving a wide range of vascular services, including clinical evaluations, wound care and minimally invasive vein procedures. The team performs treatments such as sclerotherapy, laser vein ablations and phlebectomies, all completed using oral anti-anxiety medication without sedation. This role offers the opportunity to expand your clinical skills while caring for a diverse patient population in a fast-paced, supportive environment focused on innovation, quality outcomes and exceptional patient experiences.
A caregiver in this position works| 4 x 10-hour shifts| 7:00am - 5:30pm| no weekends and no holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status, complete nursing assessments, perform telephone triage, and establish care plans.
• Administer medication and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and other emergency measures.
• Notify the physician and/or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) of abnormal findings.
• Assist with specialized diagnostic procedures, therapeutic procedures, and specialized patient care equipment.
• Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education and provide it to patients and families.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures, as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Graduate from an accredited S chool of N ursing (Diploma , ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) C ertification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• In areas performing moderate sedation procedures and/or cardiac stress testing, must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire
• One year o f recent experience as an RN OR LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience if applicant is a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in an ambulatory setting transferring into an RN role but remaining in the same current ambulatory C leveland Clinic setting OR a current Cleveland Clinic caregiver in a clinical role within the same specialty area transferring into an ambulatory area
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Bachelor ’s of S cience in N ursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements: • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range. • May requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. • Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. • Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Personal Protective Equipment: • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
