Job Summary

The Regulatory Project Manager plays a central role in managing state-regulated utility filings with public utility commissions for some of AEP's most complex and high-profile regulatory initiatives. Working in a collaborative team environment, this position leads the coordination of filing strategies that support cost recovery and earnings realization for AEP's operating companies. The role provides regular exposure to senior leaders across the company and the opportunity to influence strategic business outcomes. In addition to leading the filing process, Case Managers help shape filing strategy, coordinate regulatory positioning, and facilitate key business decisions that influence case outcomes. This role is highly project-driven, functioning much like a project manager for regulatory filings. Successful candidates are skilled at coordinating diverse stakeholders, influencing without direct authority, maintaining exceptional attention to detail, and keeping complex initiatives moving forward under demanding deadlines. Key responsibilities include managing filing schedules, coordinating witness testimony, overseeing discovery responses, and ensuring compliance with state filing requirements. The Case Manager serves as a hub of activity, keeping teams aligned, timelines on track, and deliverables moving forward under tight deadlines, while ensuring a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and compliance throughout the filing process. What You'll Do:

Lead and project-manage cross-functional teams to deliver major regulatory filings with state commissions, supporting AEP’s strategic goals and investments. Partner with business leaders to evaluate regulatory risks, strategic alternatives, and filing approaches that support successful case outcomes. Serve as the central coordinator and strategic facilitator for filings involving executive leadership, legal counsel, finance, operations, engineering, and external stakeholders. • Coordinate diverse teams to meet deadlines, often while managing multiple filings at once. • Build and leverage internal networks to gather insights and shape regulatory strategies. • Serve as a key interface between operating company leadership, AEP Service Corp., legal counsel, and subject matter experts to ensure alignment on filing objectives and regulatory strategy. • Mentor and support junior Case Management staff on projects and development opportunities.

Oversee the end-to-end case filing process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely execution. • Coordinate the review of direct and rebuttal testimony across multiple witnesses. • Ensure filing schedules meet all state regulatory requirements. • Facilitate the discovery process among witnesses, support staff, and legal counsel. • Lead cross-functional teams through critical filing milestones, ensuring accountability, issue resolution, and timely execution.

Develop and recommend regulatory strategies to navigate challenges and strengthen case outcomes. Contribute to filing strategy, witness preparation, procedural approaches, issue development, and overall regulatory positioning throughout the life of a case. • Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to develop compelling regulatory narratives that support company investments and business objectives. • Evaluate alternative cost recovery approaches. • Shape testimony strategies in response to intervenor positions. • Monitor and incorporate state commission decisions, policies, and peer utility filings.

Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory policies, and legislative developments that impact AEP’s operations. • Knowledge of electric distribution, transmission and generation preferred. • Maintain working knowledge of Standard Filing Requirements and state administrative codes. • Track relevant legislation and regulatory changes across jurisdictions.

Regulatory Case Manager (Salary Level 9): Education: • Bachelor' degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering or Finance.

Work Experience: • Minimum of 6 years of experience with emphasis on one or more of the following - utility accounting and applications, rates, tariff development and application, commercial operations, management, and/or other pertinent experience.

• Electric utility experience is preferred.

Regulatory Case Manager (Salary Level 10): Education: • Bachelor' degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering or Finance.

Work Experience: • Minimum of 8 years of experience with emphasis on one or more of the following - utility accounting and applications, rates, tariff development and application, commercial operations, management, and/or other pertinent experience.   • Previous leadership experience is preferred. • Electric utility experience is preferred.

Other Must Haves: • Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and execution of complex, deadline-driven workstreams. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams and leadership levels. • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools for data analysis and tracking. • Familiarity with regulatory processes
