General Summary

The position is responsible for overseeing and managing the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Programs, including streamlining requirements, simplifying processes and identifying and implementing controls to minimize risks associated with SHEQ through a proactive approach. The incumbent will also create a SHEQ culture through a consistent, integrated approach throughout the business.

Essential Job Accountabilities • Provide strategic vision and leadership to ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures, as well as all relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices. • Supervise, develop, and manage the safety, environmental, and quality business unit professionals under their area of responsibility to ensure effective implementation and administration of the company’s SHEQ management efforts. • Perform inspections, observations, and audits to ensure compliance with SHEQ standards. Identify non-conformance issues, opportunities for improvement, and take corrective action to address them. • Ensure findings from SHEQ assessments are corrected and continuously improved to meet the company’s standards. • Participate in SHEQ-related regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance and protect company interests. • Monitor SHEQ metrics, track incidents, administrate Collaborative Learning Events (CLE), and implement improvements to ensure knowledge and awareness of all SHEQ management systems. • Provide leadership and support to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and adherence to company policy and SHEQ objectives. • Manage the development of risk assessments, work plans, job hazard analysis, and daily training to assess potential safety hazards, health risks, environmental impacts, and quality concerns associated with construction and materials production activities. • Identify appropriate control measures to mitigate potential risks based on work plan/job hazard analysis. • Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry trends related to safety, health, environmental, and quality management.

Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality or related field.

Work Experience • Minimum 10+ years' experience in construction or applicable industry with SHEQ related responsibilities required.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and must have the ability to work at height, in enclosed or confined spaces and climb stairs and ladders in a construction/plant environment.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Additional Requirements/Skills • Comply, understand, and support company safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment • Champion the company’s Code of Conduct • Valid state issued driver’s license • Travel required (amount will vary based on business unit geography) • Bilingual- English/Spanish (strong plus) • Ability to work alternative shifts, including nights, weekends, and other non-standard schedules, may be required depending on project and client needs.

Base Salary Range:  $139,951.00 - $209,926.00 Pay may vary based upon relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.  ​
