About this role
Your Opportunity as a n Engineering Intern
As an intern with in our Corporate Engineering Organization, you will work on a Process Engineering Team s upporting Research and Development . Y ou will work on research projects that involve designing and executing experiments in the laboratory and pilot plant, develop and conduct tests to evaluate p otential processing changes , or prove out new process technology for new products and equipment. You will have the opportunity to lead your own projects, while also gaining exposure to broader company initiatives.
Location: Orrville, OH Corporate Offices
Work Arrangements: 100 % in office expectations
Work Schedule: We are looking for students who are available for 6- 8 months (from January – August or May – December ). Ple ase indicate your availability on the application.
In this role you will:
• Partner closely with scientists, engineers, and technicians to complete multiple projects , analyze data, and present results to company leadership.
• Apply fundamental engineering principles to d esign and c onduct experiments on pilot scale manufacturing equipment and analytical instruments .
• Interface as needed with equipment suppliers, manufacturing facilities and cross-functional business partners to achieve project goals.
• Develop foundational knowledge as a n engineer in the food industry, with a focus on optimizing process es , equipment, and finished product attributes.
What we are looking for:
• A Sophomore or Junior standing in school with requisite educational experience in Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
• A well-rounded skill set including strong time-management, the ability to work flexible/varied hours (some overtime may be needed), comfort in working in a laboratory, pilot plant, and plant environments
