Quality Assurance & Compliance • Oversee daily quality processes c onducting routine inspections and testing of precast concrete products during various stages of production (pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspection). • Reviews production documentation, batch reports, curing records, and inspection logs. • Assists with internal and third-party audits. • Coordinates corrective and preventive actions and track resolution effectiveness. • Assist in investigating and documenting any quality issues or non-conformances and working with production teams to implement corrective actions. • Monitors adherence to plant quality control manual and standard operating procedures.

Testing & Technical Oversight • Oversee concrete testing including slump, air content, unit weight, compression testing, aggregate gradation, and moisture testing. • Validate mixed designs and monitor consistency and performance. • Review non-conformance reports and recommend technical resolutions. • Analyze trends in compressive strength, defects, and production deviations. • Determine, monitor, and verify sample requests from sales and others, as needed. • Calibrate, maintain, and verify accuracy of testing equipment in accordance with industry standards.

Data Analysis & Reporting • Collects, analyzes, and interprets QC data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. • Prepares weekly and monthly quality performance reports for management. • Maintains digital and hard-copy quality records as required including but not limited to test results, quality non-conformances, and corrective actions. • Assists in KPI development related to quality metrics (rework rates, reject rates, strength averages, etc.). • Perform root cause analysis and report findings with recommendations to management.

Production & Field Coordination • Works closely with Production, Engineering, Project Management and Sales to ensure product quality standards is met. • Support the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including work instructions, control plans, and inspection protocols. • Provides technical guidance during new product development or specialty projects. • Supports field issue investigations and root cause analysis. • Train production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices. • Assist in training Quality Control staff in quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

  Leadership & Support     •    Provides technical direction and training to QC Supervisors and Technicians.     •    Steps in for the QC Manager or Supervisor when required.     •    Promotes a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Supervision • Provides supervision, direction, and assignments to QC Technicians / QC Inspectors (as assigned)

Qualifications and Requirements Education, Experience, Certifications: • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) or equivalent industry experience.

• 5+ years of quality control experience in a precast, construction, or concrete manufacturing environment. • ACI and/or PCI Level I certification (required). • ACI and/or PCI Level II certification (preferred). • ACI and/or PCI Level III certification (preferred). • Knowledge of industry standards (ASTM, ACI, PCI, DOT) and materials testing procedures. • Strong analytical and documentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software (preferred). • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear; frequently required to stand and walk; occasionally required to drive, climb, and stoop/knee, taste/smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds, seldom more.

   Work Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an office environment but will be required periodically to go out into the plant/field environment that includes noise, dirt, heat, cold, oil, fumes, and other elements. Time spent in office is approximately 50% and time spent in plant/field is 50%.
