Department: SOM Department of Population Health ----- Population Health - Mueller Research Position Title: Project Manager - Rural Health Program Evaluation Job Family Group: Professional Staff Job Description Summary: The Kansas Center for Rural Health and Department of Population Health at the University of Kansas Medical Center are seeking a Project Manager to contribute to a newly formed evaluation unit within the Kansas Center for Rural Health. In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of public health scientists, demographers, sociologists, and epidemiologists, the project manager will help lead and manage the evaluation of various rural health programs across the state—with activities initially focused on a mixed-methods evaluation of the recently-funded Brain Health Assessment Network.

Overarching responsibilities include project development; management activities such as prioritizing projects, designing and implementing evaluation protocols and plans; fielding consultation requests; coordinating team meetings; monitoring budgets; analyzing results; supervising and drafting reports; maintaining records, files, and databases; and supervising student staff and/or other staff. Job Description: Job Duties Outlined: • Operationalize and implement project protocols: this includes but is not limited to organizing logistics for internal and external project meetings, intervention delivery, data collection, and analysis, training faculty and staff on research projects; tracking research activities and intermediate/final deliverables; developing presentations, and meeting with potential project partners.

• Supervise project staff to ensure successful completion of project duties.

• Contribute to collaborative team meetings and set timelines for completion of study/ project components. Set and track weekly and monthly goals for study/ project productivity.

• Coordinate and contribute to development of research study documents, such as protocols, data collection forms, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and renewals.

• Participate in scholarly activities such as developing abstracts, posters, presentations, manuscripts and grant applications. Manage journal submissions.

Required Qualifications: Work Experience: • Eight (8) years of experience in program evaluation, health services research, population health or a related field. Education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

• Experience developing and implementing mixed-methods program evaluation.

• Experience with report preparation and data visualization.

• Experience using code-based statistical software (e.g. Stata, SAS, R) and qualitative analysis software (e.g. Nvivo).

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

• Experience with project management software (e.g. SmartSheet)

Preferred Qualifications: Work Experience : • Experience with publishing peer-reviewed evaluation results and distilling evaluation findings for use by audiences for informing policy and practice.

• Experience leading evaluation efforts and managing teams.

• Experience managing multiple research and evaluation projects.

• Knowledge and familiarity with rural Kansas.

• Knowledge of public health evaluation frameworks (e.g. ReAIM, PRISM, CDC Framework).

• Familiarity with principles and approaches of equitable evaluation.

Employee Type: Regular Time Type: Full time Rate Type: Salary Compensation Statement: The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above. 

Pay Range: $80,600.00 - $120,900.00 Minimum $80,600.00 Midpoint $100,800.00 Maximum $120,900.00
