Job Duties: This position reports directly to the Director of Advancement and is responsible for special projects, maintaining and updating procedure manuals, data management and overall operational support

This position will manage and evaluate advancement workflow and efficiency of operations for the unit. Represents the unit to internal and external stakeholders to ensure success of advancement efforts.  In conjunction with the Advancement Director leads special projects, implements and takes on special tasks as assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities: • Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues

• Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones

• Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service

• Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met

• Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team

Department: The mission of the UWSP University Advancement Department is to strengthen relationships with university stakeholders and manage engagement by telling the UWSP Story and fundraising activities to secure resources and support for the university’s mission and vision.

University Advancement works to increase the resources available to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point by generating philanthropic interests and volunteer support.

Advancement oversees activities of the UWSP Alumni Association, Major Gift Officers, development and the UWSP Foundation.

Compensation & Benefits: The Project Manager is a full-time, salaried, exempt, annual (12-month), academic staff position.

Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $75,610 - $80,000 commensurate with the candidate’s education, related experience, and qualifications. Relocation assistance may be available.

Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, tracking progress, and meeting deadlines.

• Knowledge of project management principles and practices.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

• Experience developing and improving business processes and procedures.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Basic knowledge of budgeting and resource management.

Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in higher education, advancement, philanthropy, or nonprofit organizations.

• Familiarity with CASE, VSE, and gift reporting standards.

• Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Financial Edge, or similar enterprise systems.

• Knowledge of donor databases, scholarship management systems, or related financial platforms.

• Familiarity with nonprofit financial operations and regulatory compliance, including IRS Form 990 and 501(c)(3) requirements.

• Project management certification (e.g., PMP or CAPM).
