We are currently hiring a Project Controls Analyst located in Southern California. This position will provide project controls, cost tracking, schedule maintenance, and reporting support across an assigned portfolio of public works building projects. This position is a program-wide role and is not assigned to a single project. This is a high-impact, high visibility role supporting both internal teams and client resources towards successful project outcomes and we encourage talented project controls professionals to apply.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform Project Controls Services including but not limited to capital planning, portfolio and project governance, front end planning, project funding, project set up, construction technology, procure to pay, project, cost & commercial managing, schedule control, risk management, project close-out.

• Maintain project cost and schedule data across the assigned portfolio.

• Prepare and update monthly project status reports and portfolio dashboards.

• Support preparation of Capital Outlay Budget Change Proposals, budget packages, and planning studies.

• Track invoices, change orders, contingency draw-down, and encumbrance status against appropriation.

• Maintain risk registers, action item logs, and decision records.

• Compile data supporting the Facilities Advisory Committee and Department of Finance reporting cycles.

• Support procurement documentation for Design-Build solicitations.

• Perform cost benchmarking against completed court construction projects.

• Participate in the delivery of Portfolios, Programs & projects.

• Support development of client's capital plan and associated updates ​by providing cashflow and accrual information.

• Facilitate funding process by consolidating information from various sources into a holistic funding request document.

• Work closely with clients to effectively set up project systems and coding and communicate the requirements to those providing inputs.

• Forecast and predictively influence the outcomes of project.

• Review and analyze schedule development and progression to proactively influence the outcome of the project.

• Identify, quantify, monitor, and partner to develop risk mitigation plans.

• Ensure the effective closure of projects including the completion of all financial related activities.

• Other duties as assigned.

• Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Knowledge & Skills Required: • Growing technical competency in many of the project controls service offerings such as Project set up, construction technology, procure to pay, project, cost & commercial managing, schedule control, risk management, project close-out.

• Demonstrate understanding of Project Controls fundamentals. 

• Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to company. 

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently. 

• Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment. 

• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

• Highly proficient in the use of Excel.

• Utilize effective written and oral communication skills. 

Required Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, finance, business, or a related field required.

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in construction project controls, capital program analysis, or a related field.

• Demonstrated proficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project) and/or advanced spreadsheet analysis.

• Experience with public-sector capital budgeting and appropriation tracking highly preferred.
