About this role
Job Posting Title: Production Specialist, Kids & Little Kids (National Geographic) Req ID: 10156504 Job Description: Provide print production support for Kids and Little Kids publications, ensuring pages are accurate, complete, and production-ready. Partner with Editorial and Design teams to manage assets, corrections, proofing, and final release activities.
Responsibilities: • Prepare and review pages for production, proofing, and release. • Coordinate asset placement, including illustrations and replacement files. • Implement and track corrections through proof cycles. • Perform quality control checks on layouts and production files. • Collaborate with editors and designers to resolve production issues. • Monitor schedules, approvals, and production milestones.
Basic Qualifications: • 3+ years of print production, publishing, or related experience. • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Creative Cloud applications. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge of print production, proofing, and prepress workflows. • Experience coordinating artwork, illustrations, and complex page assets. • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions independently.
Required Education: • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Publishing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education: • Advanced coursework, certification, or specialized training in publishing, print production, graphic design, or related disciplines
The hiring range for this position in Washington, D.C. is $79,400 to $106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
