DESCRIPTION Location/Division Specific Information: LSG Global Procurement – GSD (Primarily Direct Procurement)

How you will make an impact: As a Procurement Specialist at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials that support our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You will manage procurement and planning activities with a primary focus on direct procurement, interpreting demand, evaluating vendor reliability, developing supply relationships, and monitoring cost, schedules, and scope to assure best quality at best value.

What you will do: • Procure direct materials to support production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels • Utilize MRP (mainly SAP) for material procurement and coordinate purchasing consistent with MRP requirements • Create, manage, and monitor purchase orders from end to end: from placement to payment • Conduct and lead vendor review meetings and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) meetings with assigned vendors to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, analyzing quotations and recommending suppliers based on cost, quality, and lead-time • Monitor supplier delivery, capacity, and quality metrics; proactively mitigate supply risks and resolve material shortages • Collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from warehouse personnel to company executives, partnering with Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Supplier Quality • Support new product introductions, product transfers, and change orders as needed • Create Power BI instances from Excel spreadsheets to analyze inventory trends and propose process improvements • Use AI to automate processes and identify process improvement opportunities • Drive KPI improvements including inventory targets, on-time delivery, backorders, and price variance with a PPI mindset—always looking for a better way • Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, regulatory requirements, and quality standards in a controlled environment

REQUIREMENTS

Education: • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or related discipline with 2+ years of procurement experience, OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of procurement experience • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CIPS, or CPM certification a plus

Experience and Technical Skills: • Minimum 2+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment • Strong proficiency in SAP required (MRP experience primarily in SAP) • Proficiency in Power BI to create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations required • Automation skills and experience implementing process automation highly desired • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and MS applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, Teams) • Experience in Medical Device industry or FDA/ISO/GMP-regulated environments preferred • Experience in regulated and SOP heavy environment required • Experience following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) without deviation in a controlled environment is a strong plus

Skills and Abilities: • Strong analytical skills combined with practical business sense and sound negotiation abilities • Effective communication skills with ability to interact across all organizational levels and conduct professional vendor review meetings • Self-motivated individual who can work independently and autonomously while thriving in cross-functional team environments • PPI-oriented mindset with commitment to process improvement and continual improvement philosophies (Lean, Six Sigma) • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment • Strong attention to detail with strict adherence to procedures and protocols • Ability to travel occasionally to supplier sites as business needs require
