The Role:  

Our site in   Riegelwood, NC   is seeking a   Process Chemist   to join our team.   In this role, you will be   responsible for supporting   b atch   m anufacturing,   n ew   p roduct   d evelopment,   s cale   u p and   c ontinual   i mprovement. The Process Chemist participates as part of the Site Leadership Team to drive Safety, Quality and Continual Improvement.  

What You’ll Do :  

• Develop a strong working knowledge of processes ranging in scale from   5L   to 1000 Gal lons .  

• Execute standard batch manufacturing processes.  

• Process monitoring, troubleshooting and identification of deviations.  

• Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and yield.  

• Coordinate with management team to evaluate feasibility of new projects.  

• Write and revise   SOP’s .  

• Accurate SAP order execution.  

• Maintain accurate, detailed records.  

• Communicate and present information in a clear, organized manner.  

• Operate forklift, pumps, valves, and other miscellaneous equipment.  

• Troubleshoot and perform minor routine maintenance as required.  

• May be required to adjust schedule to cover shifts or support implementation of new processes.  

• Demonstrated conformance to the Quality Management System.  

• Comply with safety and environmental requirements.   

• Work in a cross functional team to drive Safety, Quality and Continual Improvement.

• Other functions as requested by management.  

What We Seek :  

• BS   Chemistry or related field    

• Experience interpreting analytical results  

• Experience with SAP

• Knowledge of proper safe handling/disposal of chemicals and ability to maintain a clean and safe workspace.   

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous documentation habits.  

• Strong written and oral communication skills with experience presenting results.  

• Ability to multitask and prioritize.  

• Commitment to Safety and Continual Improvement.  

• Must be able to wear a respirator.  

• Ability to drive a forklift.  

• Position will require moderate physical effort with heavy lifting (50- lbs ), walking, bending, loading items on shelves, shrink wrapping pallets, labelling drums, pails, or boxes and loading/unloading trucks with forklift.  

• Second shift    

Outstanding   Candidates   Will   Have :  

• 2+ years of   experience   in chemical manufacturing preferred

• Experience with scale up

• SAP proficiency
