About this role

Biohub is the first large-scale initiative bringing frontier AI models, massive compute, and frontier experimental capabilities under one roof. We're building a general-purpose system to accelerate scientific discovery, integrating frontier AI models, biological foundation models, and lab capabilities, with the ultimate goal of curing disease. Our technology powers scientists around the world, translating AI capabilities into tools that accelerate research everywhere.

The Team

Through our multi-dimensional imaging program, we build imaging tools that capture life across scales — from single proteins to whole organisms — revealing how proteins and cells function, communicate, and assemble into living systems. These observations are laying the groundwork for a new generation of AI models that can predict cellular behavior and guide the development of better treatments for widespread diseases. You can learn more about our work here .

Our work brings together three powerhouse universities - Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UC San Francisco - into a single collaborative technology and discovery engine.

Our Vision

• Pursue large scientific challenges that cannot be pursued in conventional environments

• Enable individual investigators to pursue their riskiest and most innovative ideas

• Facilitate research by scientists and clinicians at our home institutions and beyond

We are a team of passionate individuals powered by technology, guided by scientific research, and driven by collaboration, working toward a mission to cure or prevent all disease.

The Opportunity

Biohub is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to support the VP of Imaging in leading cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver ambitious imaging science and technology projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with exceptional project management skills to guide complex initiatives from conception to completion.

This is ideal for a TPM who takes pride in disciplined, transparent project execution and brings a builder's mindset to process design. You will not simply run established workflows; you will actively help implement new ones and identify where they break down. You will work closely with imaging scientists, engineers, AI researchers and cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where your contributions directly shape the team's scientific and technical output.

What You'll Do

• Support the VP of Imaging in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and cross-platform, cross-program activities throughout the planning and execution of complex imaging technology projects, in alignment with the Biohub strategic roadmap

• Live at the intersections of cross-functional initiatives and drive programs to completion with end-to-end ownership

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, resource allocation, risk assessments, and budgets

• Track metrics including publications, conferences/workshops attended, visitor programs, platform performance, throughput, and more

• Manage technical dependencies, identify potential roadblocks, and implement effective solutions

• Track project progress using appropriate metrics and tools, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders

• Facilitate effective communication between team members, departments, and external partners

• Adapt project management approaches to accommodate changing priorities or new information

• Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and best practices

What You'll Bring

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in bioengineering, imaging sciences, computational engineering, image modeling, or related technical field; Master's degree or PhD preferred

• 10+ years of experience managing complex technical projects, preferably in imaging technology, AI research, or related fields

• Strong understanding of AIxBio, imaging technologies, image modeling, and lab automation

• Proactive approach to problem solving and gap-filling, taking ownership of issues as they arise

• Proven track record of successfully delivering challenging multidisciplinary scientific and technical projects

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects with significant technical uncertainty

• Demonstrated ability to evaluate, select, and effectively implement appropriate project management methodologies and tools based on project requirements

• Experience managing projects with a mix of technical, scientific, and industry partners

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences

Nice to have

• Track record of innovation and creative problem-solving
