The Principal will play a key leadership role within the Consulting/Real Estate Advisory Services practice, contributing to client engagements, driving business development efforts, and expanding firm-wide relationships. This individual will work closely with property managers, brokers, lenders, and other third‑party service providers to identify issues, develop solutions, and deliver high‑value advisory services. The Principal will also be responsible for growing the firm's portfolio through client expansion, cross‑selling, and proactive opportunity creation.

Key Responsibilities • Participate and contribute to Consulting/Real Estate Advisory Services engagements by communicating effectively with property managers, brokers, lenders, and other third‑party service providers.

• Independently synthesize information to assess client situations, identify issues and solutions, and develop cohesive analyses and recommendations.

• Participate in client meetings and site visits, engaging with executive and senior‑level management to gather and analyze critical information.

• Assist clients in defining long‑term vision/mission and develop strategies to position real estate assets to achieve organizational goals.

• Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations that clearly outline issues and propose strategic solutions.

• Ensure appropriate technical reviews are completed effectively and on schedule.

• Coordinate resources across and outside the organization to deliver high‑quality services and business results.

• Engage in client expansion and cross‑serving opportunities with a strong focus on lead generation.

• Identify new opportunities and enhance profitability of ongoing engagements within the business.

• Syndicate ideas, insights, and service offerings to other business development professionals.

• Facilitate development of business development capabilities among team members.

• Understand business development as a team-driven effort and meaningfully orchestrate opportunities.

• Contribute to REIA business and affiliate companies through sales efforts and introductions to prospective clients.

• Engage clients in discussions about industry trends, risks, business plans, and strategic objectives to identify opportunities for firm involvement.

• Build strong relationships with client decision‑makers and proactively discuss new ideas or service offerings.

• Ask clients for referrals to additional business owners or key decision makers.

• Develop personal relationships with third parties (bankers, attorneys, vendors, etc.) to support referral activity.

• Lead and conduct practice activities in a manner consistent with Plante Moran values.

• Demonstrate responsibility for the overall success of the P\&M team and contribute meaningfully to firm initiatives.

• Plan and execute work independently while meeting budgetary and time constraints.

• Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through exceptional service quality.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.

• 15+ years of business or real estate investment, development, or consulting experience.

• Experience with financial modeling.

• ARGUS experience preferred.

• Proven success in sales, business development, and account management.

• Demonstrated history of client retention and relationship management.

• Strong alignment with firm values and demonstrated leadership behaviors.

• Ability to plan and execute work independently within budget and timelines.

• Demonstrated expertise in relevant principles, industry practices, and technical areas of specialization.
