How You'll Contribute to the Team:
The President, Energy leads the strategy and execution of energy efficiency, energy generation, and resiliency solutions to drive growth and build strategic partnerships within the Department of War (DOW). The role includes team leadership and commercialization responsibilities, and requires deep experience operating within complex enterprises, paired with an entrepreneurial, execution-focused approach and the ability to move decisively from strategy to results while navigating matrixed internal and external stakeholder environments.
The President, Energy is accountable for capture and partnership execution and securing complex contractual arrangements through traditional and non-traditional pathways. This role carries full P&L responsibility, with operating accountability for budget, team leadership, delivery performance, and governance. The role delivers investment value by converting strategic opportunities into contract awards, ensuring long-term revenue streams, and building scalable infrastructure solutions, while operating effectively within enterprise financial, governance, compliance, and decision-making structures.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Market & Growth
• Develop and execute an integrated DOW market and contracts strategy aligned with enterprise growth objectives.
• Translate complex defense market dynamics into actionable growth priorities and investment decisions.
• Own revenue growth and performance across the energy business.
Strategic Partnerships, Transactions & Capture Deals
• Drive end-to-end business development and capture efforts, including opportunity identification, qualification, capture planning, proposal strategy, and contract execution.
• Lead pricing, deal structuring, and margin management for complex contracts.
• Establish and manage teaming arrangements, alliances, joint ventures, and partner ecosystems to improve win rates and market access.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with DOW officials, prospects, and defense industry partners.
• Align with broader lobbying and Government Relations efforts to support Congressional engagement and market development.
• Identify, structure, and advance complex infrastructure, energy, and investment opportunities that create long-term value for customers, partners, and the enterprise.
Leadership & Execution
• Navigate complex corporate and political environments to align Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams and joint venture partners around growth priorities.
• Influence decision-making across a matrixed organization using data, relationships, and executive presence.
• Ensure growth market requirements are reflected in capability development, resourcing, and investment planning.
• Lead from the front, personally driving execution, not just oversight.
• Set clear performance standards and measurable outcomes; establish benchmarks and operating cadence to drive accountability, speed, and continuous improvement.
• Effectively align systems and structures across teams to maximize impact and operational effectiveness.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to develop and execute plans that maximize business opportunities and manage risk.
• Ensure program compliance with defined legal and contractual requirements while enabling speed of execution and risk-informed decisions.
• Provide timely, accurate reporting on operating performance, risks, and opportunities to enable executive decisions and proactive risk mitigation; coordinate functional support leads to deliver shared enterprise initiatives.
• Model the highest standards of business professionalism; lead the training and development of team members through coaching, motivating, and mentoring on company culture, business goals, fiscal responsibility, and sound business judgment.
• Lead the recruitment and retention of a diverse team of professionals; create accountability and ownership among team members through communication of clear expectations, supervision, and timely performance feedback.
Role Specific Requirements Include:
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 20+ years of senior leadership experience in enterprise growth, government markets, or defense-adjacent industries; energy efficiency, clean generation, and resiliency solutions experience strongly preferred.
• Proven record of winning and scaling DOW contracts, including complex, multi-year, multi-stakeholder programs.
• Demonstrated success leading capture and business development for DOW customers, including shaping opportunities, leading win strategies, and executing proposals through award.
• Experience leading complex government-facing commercial arrangements and working within regulated contracting environments.
• Experience structuring, negotiating, and governing teaming agreements, alliances, joint ventures, and partner ecosystems to improve win rate and delivery outcomes.
