Position Summary Works under direct supervision of Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) to develop competencies in and performs basic sleep testing procedures and associated interventions.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Gathers patient information: review history, physical information, medications, verify the medical order and protocol, complete and validate documentation, explain the procedure and orient the patient to the sleep lab. • Performs sleep testing and interventions: prepare and calibrate monitoring equipment;. • Applies electrodes and sensors and calibrate to verify accuracy of signals; monitors polysomnograms and learns to interpret data; learns to titrate CPAP/BiPAP. • Documents routine observations, including clinical events, procedures conducted and other significant events. • Operates electronic health record Assists with general maintenance of equipment and lab facilities. • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards for an accredited sleep laboratory, as well as safety and infection control requirements.

Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience. Certifications /Professional Licenses : The list below may include all acceptable certifications, professional licenses and issuers. More than one credential, certification or professional license may be required depending on the role.

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (RPSGT) - Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) Work Experience: No specific work experience is required for this position. Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.

More About This Job Required Qualifications: • BLS/CPR certification (may be acquired after hire). • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements). • Must complete BRPT Registered Polysomnographic Technologist within 18 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: • Completion of A-STEP introductory course or equivalent and enrollment in or completion of, A-STEP self-study modules.

Salary Range $16.92 - $24.59 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
