Job Description: The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. Pharmacy Technician activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, 12 months a year. The Pharmacy Technician reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager.

Essential Job Duties: • Enters and verifies prescription information, communicates wait times, answers calls, and resolves refill or workflow issues. • Fills, labels, and prepares prescriptions for pharmacist review while monitoring for drug interactions and coordinating with healthcare providers. • Processes insurance claims, including submissions, troubleshooting rejections, handling reversals/rebills, and returning unclaimed prescriptions to stock. • Manages point-of-sale operations, including cash register and credit card procedures, opening/closing tasks, and coordinating with accounting for supplies and large bill exchanges. • Handles daily prescription and over-the-counter transactions accurately while providing excellent customer service. • Reviews and enters daily medication orders with multiple vendors according to established reorder points and maintains accurate drug database pricing. • Maintains pharmacy cleanliness and professional appearance, including restocking supplies and performing routine sanitizing and cleaning tasks. • Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager or Lead Pharmacy Technician.
Conditions of Employment: • Pre-employment Drug Testing - Must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug test, including negative results for opioids and benzodiazepines.. • Health Network follows CDC guidelines for Employee Health in a healthcare setting, including proof of vaccinations. Employees must show proof of compliance/willingness to comply by start date.
Minimum Education: • Current, valid certification or provisional certification as a Pharmacy Technician from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy. • Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Minimum Experience: • One year of experience labeling, storing, and filling medications in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
Preferred Qualifications: • CPR Certification. • Three years of experience labeling, storing, and filling medications in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting. • Prior retail experience restocking and facing shelves, cash-handling, customer service, and cash register experience. • Effective interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills. • Attention to detail, task oriented, independent and team-based worker. • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations. • Strong customer service skills. • Expert in processing insurance claims, handlin
