We are looking for someone who can take a defined initiative, partner with the right subject matter experts, and get it across the finish line every time. That's the heart of this role: coordinating the execution of Destination Pet's people-focused initiatives from performance review cycles to onboarding programs to career path development while our CHRO and HR leadership own the roadmap and priorities.

You'll partner with whichever subject matter experts and stakeholders each initiative requires, from executive leadership to front-line, hourly employees. A passion for improving employee experience, and a clear sense of how that connects to business results matters far more than deep HR expertise. We are looking to add a   People Programs Manager   to our team!    

LOCATION :   Remote US   ( preference given to candidates based in Dallas or Denver)  

Travel:   10%  

REPORTS TO :   Group CHRO (dotted line to VP of HR)  

PAY:   $80,000- $110,000 plus bonus potential up to 10%    

CORE RESPONSIBILITES:    

• Take initiatives defined by HR leadership and translate them into clear project plans with timelines, milestones, and owners  

• Partner with whichever subject matter experts and stakeholders each initiative requires — from   executive leadership to front-line, hourly employees — to drive execution; you coordinate the work, they bring the  expertise  

• Track progress, flag  risks  and blockers early, and keep initiatives moving without needing heavy oversight  

• Run regular check-ins and status updates with stakeholders and leadership  

• Build simple, reusable templates and processes so recurring initiatives (like review cycles) get easier to execute each time  

• Manage several initiatives in parallel, kickoff to full implementation  

REQUIREMENTS:    

Education & Experience:   

• 5–7 years managing multiple projects simultaneously, from kickoff through full implementation   

• Proven experience partnering cross-functionally to drive projects forward without relying on formal authority  

• Experience in a multi-state, multi-unit organization with a high volume of hourly employees (e.g., hospitality, healthcare, or retail)  

• Demonstrated ability to  operate  independently and make sound judgment calls with minimal oversight  

• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-through  

• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment  

Preferred  

• Experience with project management tools (Asana, Smartsheet, monday.com, MS Project, or similar)  

• HR or operations experience preferred  

• PMP, CAPM, or Agile/Scrum certification  

• Experience at a mid-sized company (2,000–5,000 employees)

• T hrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple initiatives at once and pivoting quickly as priorities shift  

• A true self-starter — able to pick up an initiative and drive it forward with minimal day-to-day direction  

• Communicates effectively at every level, from executive leadership to front-line, hourly employees  

• Comfortable asking questions, contributing ideas, and adapting gracefully when a different approach is chosen  

• Exceptionally organized, with a strong  track record  of follow-through  

• Motivated by execution and results, not by owning strategy or long-term roadmap design
