Job Summary

The Division of Pediatric Dentistry at Denver Health is recruiting for a Full Time Pediatric Dentist in Denver, CO. The Pediatric Dentist ("Dentist") under minimal supervision, provides primary and comprehensive preventative and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Diagnose, prevent, and treat problems with teeth or mouth tissue. Perform extractions, preventative and restorative dental work on pediatric and special needs patients. Provide instruction on brushing, flossing, the use of fluorides, and other aspects of dental care. Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications. The Pediatric Dentist ("Dentist") under minimal supervision, provides primary and comprehensive preventative and therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Education :

• Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of Accredited Dentistry Program Required

Licenses : • DDS-Dentist - JCNDE - Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations Required • BLS Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : • Medicine and Dentistry — Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures. • Judgment and Decision Making — Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. • Diversity - Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. • Temperament - Ability to remain calm in emergency situations • Demonstrated proficiency with technology platforms, for example, the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
