Position Overview: The Payroll Practitioner II is responsible for processing biweekly, multi-state payroll in a high-volume environment while ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This role audits payroll data, reviews automated payroll outputs, and processes off-cycle payments, including termination and retroactive payments, as needed.

Job Responsibilities: • Prepare and process biweekly, multi-state payroll for more than 9,000 employees, ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. • Audit payroll data for accuracy including timekeeping records, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefits. • Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure proper documentation for all payroll related transactions. • Inspect automated payroll system outputs such as payroll registers to verify accuracy. • Process off-cycle payments, including terminations and retroactive payments, as needed. • Oversee daily mail distribution. • Support internal and external audit activities by gathering required payroll documentation including employee pay slips, payroll records, etc. • Research and resolve all payroll discrepancies and payroll related inquiries in a timely manner. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and CCM policies. • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills: • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education/experience. • FPC or CPP Designation, preferred.  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience in a high-volume, multistate environment. • Experience with Workday Payroll, preferred. • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll rules and regulations. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. • Excellent communication skills. • Skilled at prioritizing tasks and multitasking effectively. • Skilled at maintaining flexibility and productivity while managing frequent interruptions and shifting priorities. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
