Position Summary This position functions to assist and support the Program in Physical Therapy Practice, clinicians, and staff with patient flow and smooth running of a fast-paced office. Duties include greeting, arriving, verifying accuracy of information, assisting with MyChart, patient surveys, prepping exam rooms and coordinating communications using EPIC In-Baskets. Will coordinate scheduling follow-up appointments. Serves as liaison between consumers (staff, patients, healthcare professionals and general public) and advocates the patients’ needs. Duties include preparing patients for treatment, physical assistance with treatment, and/or observing treatment.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set up & clean equipment before and after each treatment. Maintain clean and orderly treatment and storage areas; observe infection control procedures. • Assist with patient care and care coordination as directed by therapy provider to include: serving as chaperone, who is an impartial observer of the sensitive examination, procedure, or therapy. Assisting with care for patients with high mobility needs and cognitive deficits. Clerical duties to support patient/provider/vendor relations. • Stock supplies and equipment to assigned areas. • Perform front desk and scheduling responsibilities to include: scheduling patients, vendors and/or visitors. Greeting, verifying, and updating patient registration information and arriving patients in EPIC in a timely manner. Completing all patient arrival and check out processes, including ensuring After-Visit-Summaries are finalized at the end of each patient visit. Collecting co-payments, supply fees, reconciling EPIC drawer balance and assisting with entering clinic deposits. • Accurately perform clinic closing procedures. • Serve as a back-up for other staff during peak times, vacations, and illnesses. Attend staff meetings, clinical meetings, and training sessions as they relate to the position. • Other duties as assigned with occasional rotating of clinical location of service.

Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience. Certifications /Professional Licenses : The list below may include all acceptable certifications, professional licenses and issuers. More than one credential, certification or professional license may be required depending on the role.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross Work Experience: Patient Care Support (2 Years) Skills: Not Applicable Driver's License: A driver's license is not required for this position.
More About This Job Required Qualifications: • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
• Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
Preferred Qualifications: • Ability to handle confidential matters discretely.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Capable of greeting patients, visitors, faculty, staff, and students in professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to work independently and within a team, multi-task, and follow through on assignments in a timely manner.
• Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough.
• Organization and time management skills are necessary with the ability to prioritize a multifaceted workload and handle a variety of responsibilities in a flexible manner.
• Knowledge and use of general office machines required as well as computer knowledge/skills to include word processing (Word) spreadsheet (Excel), Internet, e-mail, EMR scheduling required with Master scheduling preferred.
• Experience in ICD-10 and CPT codes, Medicare and managed-care guidelines, and medical terminology.

Salary Range $17.89 - $26.35 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University.
